Talked to a friend's son during the KU game. I was joking with him about Bill behind shady. He said he is constantly seeing Bill crusing around in his SUV (couldn't remember if it was a Denali, Escalade, Tahoe, etc.) with basketball players.

He's seen Bill drive up to a lecture hall on a few occasions dropping Wiggins off for class. Maybe Wiggins called Bill and said, "Coach, I'm going to be late to class, can you give me a ride?"

I wonder if Lon does this. I am not saying it is wrong, but seems a little weird to me.

I clearly said it wasn't wrong, but that I thought it was a little weird. A 51 year old guy cruising around Lawrence with 18 year old basketball players. Are they chilling together? It's a little weird to me.

I should have clarified in the original post. He said he sees them quite a bit just cruising around town together (besides dropping Wiggins off at class). Maybe he is just taking them places. Still seems weird to me.

Yeah, you are probably right. I guess if the players need babysitting, it is better than them getting in trouble.

Living in Kansas, I've heard all sorts of "rumors" (rumors, not fact) about Bill and his partying with the college students. Sometimes these antics (if true) can come back to bite you. It is KU though.

I give my players rides weekly. Lunch, breakfast (team meals) etc... Its called being in touch with your players.

If Bill walked into a college party and started hitting the beer bong, it would go viral within minutes. He isn't hitting up the kegger down the street.

Are you a college coach or a high school coach? Regardless, I wasn't digging for anything. I even said that I don't think it is wrong, but weird "to me." Just something I've never heard college coaches doing. Maybe it is actually a good idea to keep tabs on the players.

As far as the rumors, they are probably just that.

I do hate KU though.

The rumors are probably just Kstate fans grasping at straws. Some say they have sources though.
