On his defense.... He was out of position and straight up abused a few times in the first minute or two of action. At that point I made a rushed judgment and pigeonholed him as slow on his feet.
However, on several occasions before the night was over, he surprised me with some decent speed running the court, and even a bit of nice lateral agility.
Hopefully his lapses have been a result of mental mistakes (missing a switch!) and lingering illness moreso than a lack of athleticism. He could certainly afford to play D with a little less gumption at UNO.
I think we're a different offensive team with him on the court. Really an excellent change of pace, if nothing else.
