Wai... What? Man, I picked the wrong week to quit smoking...

This does not make any sense to me....First Capel defends the kid all year long now he is saying he will not have a schollie next year? seems silly

If this is true that Capel is either braver or dumber than I thought.

It is fun that everyone everywhere is speculating on this stuff, when no one has any clue what is really going on.

I am starting to think Capel is not making any sense...the 2 million must have went to his head...Go Sooners!!!!!!

It sucks, but I believe he would be making the right decision for this program for the long haul. This is his team....not Gallon's, Warren's, or TMG's! They don't want to abide by his rules or his style of play...they need to hit the road. I am all for getting rid of them all. My faith is in Capel....for now! ALso, tell Hardrick and Willis to hit the bricks...we will have to start all over, but so be it.

Let's not be quick to judge Capel on what other people are saying that he has or has not done. First of all, who knows if this is even true? If it is true, we need to hear Capel's side before jumping to judgment. Even then it is going to be tough to judge because Capel will never tell us the whole story if these guys were truly nightmares to coach.

I think we have to respect the supervision of Joe C. He will know all the details about what is happening in the program. He will see all the warts. It is his job to take care of the program. I think he is more that capable.

Furthermore, our coach deserves our support and respect more than players who have a "one and done" mentality. And that should not be taken that I am laying that label on any of our players. I don't know their attitudes. Time will tell us though.

1. if Capel DID do that then I certainly respect the move. That's the type of move-forward decision needed.

2. if coach did it then he also has a plan. Heck, who knows what he might have told TMG if that's the case. He might have told TMG the same or to #%$@ or get off the pot.

+1

Does anybody know if TMG was even going to class? He may have decided at the end of the 1st semester he didn't like school and this was it for him. Just a thought...

I don't want to add to the rumor mill but didn't some posters say on this board that WW had quit going to class long ago?

Maybe the kids that are not going to class are being told they are not going to be a part of the basketball program.

That's fine with me. I like to win but they are student athletes.

Those moves start in your first year as a coach, not starting in your fifth year.I like Capel but I don't think Joe C,envisioned a learning on the job head coach. Now before you jump all over me,there is nothing wrong from learning from your mistakes(we all make them)but these are some major setbacks for OU..

Look at his recruiting classes and you can't disagree with this at all.

I have to disagree here. What did he think he was getting for 600K?

Castiglione knew Capel would be learning on the job and that's why he went on the cheap.

wha wha wha ?

Im thinking maybe it was more along the lines that Capel told all these kids that there are no renewed scholarships for next year and that you have to meet with him and get on board if you want your schollie renewed.

We need more information on this story. Who's the beat writer for the Oklahoman? Ubben?

Can Henzo can get us some information about this story?

Ubben is no longer working for the Oklahoman.

Who's on the beat these days? Best I can tell Trotter is doing double-duty. It is flat out embarrassing that the Austin American Statesman would be driving this story. At least Emig had the TMG story today.
