They polled multiple NBA scouts asked them one question: Which three current college players are the most pro-ready prospects?

Buddy made the top three. I don't believe I have ever seen a greater transformation from Junior to Senior year. It's hard enough to go from good to great. It's extremely difficult to go from great to awesome, but Buddy has done just that.

He won't be a starter in the NBA until he improves on his ball handling and disciplined passing.

His defense, his shot and his ability to attack the basket are his strengths, which isn't as easy to coach up like his ball handling and disciplined passing.

Maybe not, but he won't be the focus of the defense either. I could see him being a player like JJ Redick is for the Clippers. There are a lot worse players than Buddy getting backup minutes in the NBA.

With his work ethic and outside shooting ability, I bet he's a top 10 draft pick this year. I also think he will get a lot of playing time even in his first season. Not many rookies are starters in the NBA and Buddy will continue to improve his game.

i'm not sure I would call his attacking the basket a strength YET. He losing the ball too much or gets out of control too much. He will continue to get better at it though

JJ Reddick is way better at running off screens and getting open, but Buddy is a better defender and has more size. If guys like JJ and Danny Green can be starters on really good teams I think Buddy can be pretty quickly. I honestly think he could be better than Danny Green right away. Just depends on where he gets drafted.

Buddy is the focal point of every team defensively. Imagine how many good looks he'd get on a team with an elite player like Lebron, Curry, Harden, Durant, Cousins, etc.

Buddy and Redick are the same size and to IMO similar defenders. Buddy is better slashing as of right now, but that was never Redick's strength.

As a point of comparison, Redick shot 42% from 3 pt his senior year in college. Buddy is at 51.5%, which is phenomenal (as we have all seen).

If Buddy can carry that over (prob at a lower %) to the League, he's looking at making some really good dough for a long time.

Buddy is more athletic than JJ which will make him a better defender and transition scorer or even slasher, if he continues to develop that aspect of his game.

As a side note, Redick is shooting 3s at 50% this year, which is a significant increase over his career (41%).

The thing about Buddy is he has gone from decent 3 pt shooter (about 35% for his career), to historically great 3 point shooter this year.

If he can be a lights out 3 point shooter in the NBA, he's worth a top 10 pick. That's the big question with him though.

Buddy is the same height, but the dude is way longer and way more athletic than Reddick and it's not even close! Reddick is a warrior too and that's why he can survive on defense.

In almost every article I have read about Buddy they talk about how hard he works and the fact that he takes the initiative to do it himself. That has to be a plus in the mind of any GM thinking about drafting him. That is one advantage of drafting a senior, more time to evaluate their work habits.
