Per Houck's Twitter:

"I am extremely grateful to President Boren and Joe Castiglione for giving me the opportunity to coach at OU. My family and I are so very appreciative of the OU community. This is a first class institution and an excellent place to coach. I wish OU great success in the future."

Thanks for Blake, Coach. I wish you the best.

If only message boards operated with as much class.

now see THAT'S a good departing statement.

Classy and concise.

My sentiments exactly.

There has been a LOT of classless banter going on here....I am glad it is partly over and we don't have to read it every day now. I just hope some of the "experts" we have on coaching will ponder on it enough to at least feel a little guilty for some of the garbage they said for days and weeks but I doubt seriously that some of them have much of a conscience......and I am not talking about anyone in particular.....I just think some of your mommas probably raised you better.

You mean saying "I wish I could be there when they fire his @$$ so I could see the look on his face" is classless? Surely not.

I'll say this about Coach with as much respect as I can. Unlike some coaches, I enjoyed listening to you. From your opening statements to the departure, you spoke freely and eloquently. However, I can not say I enjoyed watching your teams play. Most speeches left the kids holding the bag of lit pooh. Most of the blame went to the kids, according to you. This is why you were fired. From the moment Blake left the wheels fell off.
Lack of control.

The Blake years were great. Not because of the defense or the offense from coaching. But, from having one of the greatest prospects and human athletes of all time. Comparable to Jordan and Kobe, Blake makes everyone better. Period. Ask Willie Warren how good Blake makes you play. Ask A.J.

Unfortunately, this goes for you to Coach Capel. The next time you field a team make sure you start with Defense and have an offense to run. This is what you had at VCU. I know you did not have the greatest athletes ever assembled. Find that again and you will again be considered a good coach again.

Facepalm.

Classy response from Jeff and I expected as much from him.

After reading the emails posted earlier it sounded like Jeff probably expected this to happen even though he was acting confident of his return to the press last week. Which he had to do, IMO, because after last year with Joe not commenting for weeks on Jeffs status, for recruiting sake he had to appear confident he would return in the event he did return.

Jeff is intelligent enough to know it had to be coming. Do many warts on the program during his tenure!!!
