Capel unfazed by Willie's assist Total

``I’ve seen it before – even though it hasn’t necessarily shown up in the stats,” Capel said. ``I’d said it from the day we got him. Willie is a playmaker. He can really pass the ball, but it gets overshadowed because of his ability to score.”

Willie is underrated as a passer. He was known as a scorer coming out of high school, but 4.7 apg as a senior is pretty darned good for a player who averaged nearly 25 points per game.

In the state championship game, which North Crowley won, I saw him spend much of the first half trying to get his teammates involved. He only scored ten points, but ended the half with 8 assists.

When Crowley was behind in the second half and needed points, Willie went to work and scored 21 in the half to lead Crowley to a victory. He's a special player who has all of the tools to be great in college and at the next level.
