Cezar out at OSU

Waivers are granted every year for this.

You shouldn't need to ask. I don't think waivers are granted all the time. I think waivers are occassionally granted. The rules are ridiculous and the people that write the rules are a bunch of lying hypocrits.

He got ran off. Schools give kids these excuses every year. Didn't Newell leave for a sick mom?

I don't think he was run off, why would he be on the first day of school in the fall? If he was going to be run off, figured they'd do it in May or June. Particularly when his scholarship will now just be vacant all season.

He sounds really pissed.

Via his Twitter...

I am forever greatful for the opportunity Coach Ford and the OSU staff gave me.Greatful for the amount of work they put in.From the Wisdom to Knowledge and Yes even the Lectures.Incredible rewards that have somehow shaped me.As for my teammates,if being gifted is having others wish to have, then I can see why others wish to have what I had with you guys. Thank you guys.I will forever miss OK STATE! Also thank you to OSU fans, coaching staff and my teammates for all the the wonderful memories! I'll miss you guys alot! CG1

Based on that manuscript he might have flunked out. Or do they even flunk people at okie a&m? Dexter Manley says no.

Maybe he did something between May and now? Maybe he was suppose to do something between May and now, and he didn't? Who knows. Time will tell if this was legit or not. We all thought Newell left b/c he was homesick. He is from the NE. He transferred to a school in Florida. lol

Let it play out, the truth will come out. Either way, I hope his mother gets better.

Sadly, I would guess that Guerrero's tweet was in about the 95th percentile of college athlete tweets as far as grammar and spelling goes.

Also, 'tweets' can't really have manuscripts.

I agree. Grammar seems to be a forgotten skill.

So a kid should just be able to say my mom is sick and leave with somebody reviewing it?

I think kids should be able to transfer for any reason without sitting out a year. Coaches can leave. Schools can terminate a scholarship or run off a player. Why should kids be held to a higher standard than the schools and coaches?

If a scholarship is for one year when it is up the kid should be a free agent. Now if you want to say the kids get four years provided they stay in good standing, I could possibly live with tighter rules on transfers.

Who cares if a kid uses a pretty weak medical condition of a parent to transfer? Does it really hurt anyone?

Absolutely. In the long run, it'll create more of a mess of college athletics. Can you imagine kids transferring at will every year? Can you imagine what that would do to the college game? The constant recruitment. The behind the scenes stuff that would occur for 4 years, not just upon the initial recruitment?

Then make scholarships a multi-year agreement, the current set up is incredibly hypocritical to players.

I don't have a problem with a kid transferring if it is in good standing, or what not. He is under scholarship, a contractual agreement with the host institution and the NCAA. I have no idea when he signed is current year LOI, but assume it happened in the late spring or summer (which was my experience), so he is contractually bound to OSU.

They can transfer all they want. They just can't immediately play college athletics in all cases. Let us not forget that college is suppose to be for the education part, not the sports part. Giving players free reign to transfer for athletic only reasons is a lose-lose situation.

Kids can transfer for academic reasons and not miss a beat.

Why are people downgraded this kid? Wasn't OU after him also?

I heard he was run off for having a drug problem - not just an ill mother.

We will see where he lands. Hope he does well.

OU was after Tiny Gallon, TMG, and Willie Warren also. We even got them to Norman. And I have plenty of bad things to say about all of them.

He is just another kid that let off the court issues affect his game. He is good, just put too much effort in partying and substances and not enough in his game.
