I realized that we're not seeing as many charges this season, which used to be a staple of great defensive players in the past, e.g. Bookout, but I haven't seen it explained or analyzed quite like this.

Problem with that article is it completely ignores the primary and secondary defender provisions. Those are two completely different rules.

Charges will be called, you just have to get there sooner as a defender.
