Lost amidst the other hoopla is the excellent job being done by Matt Freeman.

One need merely look at his frame to see the strides he has made physically. But check out his play as well.

He no longer completely shies away from contact, his defense is actually getting solid, and he's really shown some flashes of excellent passing. His outside shot is still pretty solid and he's been shooting a little mid-range too.

He's made some major improvements from fr to so years. As an upperclassman he will be pretty darn solid at this rate.

I agree He has made outstanding improvement. Still needs to go after RBs stronger.
I think that Trae's passing has rubbed off on all of the players

I have been saying all year, Matt looks like the most improved kid on the team. Played real well in Oregon and is making the most of his minutes. He has a long way to do, but it looks like he is intent on getting there. Could be a real contributor in years to come, if not this year.

I'm betting we will see the same thing out of Manek next year.

All of this being said, I am predicting the breakout player next year to be McNease. If he gets 25-30 minutes and starts, I think he develops over the year into an absolute beast.

I’m with you on Freeman, Coolm! He has become an important part of our offense lately. Still has some work to do on defense and on the boards. I can say the same thing about every player on the team in that area. But he’s a much different player than the one we saw last year.

He's improved and become a serviceable player. We still need Doolittle back and, IMO, to utilize Odomes at the 4 with McGusty, James, and Young in the backcourt.

He"s not a NBAer, dont set him up to fail.

He's filled his role perfectly. He'll keep getting better.

yeah. I dont see him in the NBA either. But he's gonna end up being an excellent college player for OU whereas I thought he'd always play a bit role. He's really opened my eyes. Those are the types of guys you need in your program - solid college players who stay 4-5 years. I appreciate his effort!!

I too like what we are seeing from Freeman this year. He seems to be shooting with more confidence and playing a much better overall game. He appears to be the most improved player on the team this year. I hope I have to change that judgment after Doolittle gets into the flow of things.

I was particularly impressed with Freeman's work against the press in the Arkansas game.
