I've never attended an NCAA tourney game. Is it impossible to get tix to the opening round? Will OU have them available? How much will they be?

And is it known yet what time we'll play? If I could go up and back on the same day (Philly's just an hour-plus train ride from NYC), I could possibly swing it, if tix aren't prohibitively expensive.

tickets in OKC and Dallas have never been hard to find. Game times will be released tomorrow. I would recommend it. Nothing beats a session ticket to the NCAA Tourney. I would look at soonersports.com for tickets or stubhub

OU has the last game of the Friday session.

Thanks, Max and Sam -- are we looking at 8pm tipoff? 10pm? (Sheesh, you'd think I'd never even watched the tourney before.)

A 10pm start would be rough -- not eager to take a 1pm train back to NYC (especially a commuter train, which might not even be running at that hour, for all I know).

I could probably find somebody leaving from an earlier game who would sell me their ticket for the last game for cheap (or just give it to me, maybe), no?

First game of that sessions starts at 6:50 PM. (EST) So you're looking at 8:40 PM or so.

Sky,

There appear to be plenty of tickets available through StubHub at $82 per.

Philly NCAA - StubHub

And you are right, I am not sure the trains (Amtrak, SEPTA, Jersey transit, or whatever) runs that late. Of note, my brother lives in NYC and comes down to Philly from time to time and it is about an 1 1/2 train ride, just FYI

It probably won't happen for me, as the budget's pretty tight right now, but thanks for the info, everyone.

I'm sure you'd be able to find cheap tickets outside of the arena.

This.

Tulsa and Birmingham have never been really tough to find tickets either.

In most cities it is easy and I would think you can purchase tickets from scalpers out front for a really good price, likely less than face value or right at face value.

OU will have tickets and they probably will not sell them all. (Philly is a long way from OKC/Tulsa)

Won't this mean you have an excellent chance to get free tickets? I don't know how it works but I would assume lots of people will leave and give away their ticket to the final game.

Don't buy a face value ticket, it will be MUCH cheaper outside.

After seeing the OU mens basketball fan turnout at the Big 12 tourney last week, in a city that's a 5 hour drive or 1 hour flight away, I'm sure OU will have plenty of tickets available, as in the FULL ALLOTMENT. :ez-laugh:

A ticket cannot be scanned twice. If someone has used a ticket to get into the arena for the 6:50 pm game, then a so-called "free ticket" from someone that leaves the arena after the first game will do you no good. Most arenas do not allow re-entry.

It has been my experience that "cheap" tickets (less than face value) can be found before these NCAA sessions, especially in the upper deck.

You can still call the ticket office and get tickets at face value. Tickets can be picked up at the OU "will call window" at the arena before the start of the night session, which tips-off at 6:50.

There is very little upside in making this trip. 1st round game in a likely half empty arena vs a coach Kruger has a 5-13 record against.

We have plenty of talent but are in a big funk right now. If we could just play a solid game for 40 minutes and get a strong W vs SDSU, then you could spend close to the same amount and see us play Georgetown Sunday.

Save your bucks for that possible game when we could get on a roll. Trying to catch the falling knife is never a good strategy.
