How high was she ranked when she was committed to OSU? It seems to have fallen quite a bit. I have not seen Dungee in what I would consider the ideal situation in which to evaluate a prospect.

I saw her in the state finals against Cordell when she took over the game, especially from the three-point line. But, Cordell had nobody that could compete with her. She was just a few steps above their talent. But, she handled the ball under pressure and shot well.

I watched her play on the U-16 team. She was pretty good, not great. But, she was operating with the best young guards in the world, and the only one that stood out to me was Salvadores, and I think that was a year later. Chelsea was not just thrown out there. She was selected and went through trials against about fifty other selected prospects. She was one of the twelve who survived. Even Nancy was a replacement rather than a selection. So, she was considered by Danielle Robinson's high school coach to be one of the top twelve players in the nation.

Since that time, it has been magazines doing the rating. I'll stick with DRob's coach.

I saw Chelsea once last year. She shot well. It was apparent that they had another option that had more control of the situation. But, I followed the statistics as the season progressed. Once Chelsea joined the team, I think she had the highest shooting percentage on the team, and I think she led the team in rebounds. She was rather quiet about it. She was three for three from three late in one game to save their skin. I'll be interested to see how it develops this year with the coach's daughter no longer there.

I watched Chelsea in one AAU game. I tend to turn off these things since I found that they are really not all that valuable in giving what I consider a clear picture. Chelsea was the only guard that her team had that could drive the lane without losing the ball. She drove at will and brought the ball up under pressure. After about three or four minutes, she had six points and was benched for the rest of the game while they showcased a girl from Houston. The opposition stole the ball at will from the other guards on Chelsea's team. But, they couldn't do that to Chelsea.

She is a pretty big guard at 5-11. She is probably built more along the lines of Nina Davis. She is physical. I notice the ESPN indicated that she was deceptively fast. Yes, she can also handle the ball and drive against big players.

I can't really tell yet what type of guard she will be at OU. If she is as good as she looks in real games, she can be a very effective guard. She can do it all. We'll see how she develops against D-1 talent. We know that DRob's coach thought she tried out well..

Has a lot of tools and has the size to boot. Reminds me of Stacey Dales in a lot of ways.

I saw Chelsea play in the state tournament before she moved to Sapulpa.

She is athletic and also has a very strong build. She is certainly not too heavy, but is solid enough to show a promise of physicality few of our guards have shown.

I do not see her skills as being very similar to Nina Davis. Davis is an odd one. She does not create much on her own, but is tremendous at taking misses and rebounds and going back up to score. Sort of a garbage collector. It amazes me sometimes. That is why she shows well at both scoring and rebounding.

I expect Chelsea will be more of a creator.

Thanks again for the analysis, Syb.

I said that her build reminds me of Nina Davis, not her skills. I think her skills tend to be like those of a physical point guard. A&M should have loved her.

I got to see her play her Sophomore year. I agree, she has a great body for a two or three guard. I was impressed with her mechanics in shooting the basketball, and her all around fundamentals. The only thing I want to see her improve on is the defensive side of the ball, and she may have already made strides, since I did not get to see her play last year. She is not afraid of contact and I think she will be a solid rebounder from her position. Looking forward to seeing her in the crimson and cream.

Dungee reminds me of Penzo in terms of size and athletic ability.

I have yet to see Penzo's athletic ability. She is still new. She appears to be deceptively fast, a remark made about Dungee. But, I think she is a better passer and not near the shooter than Dungee is. She is still in recovery.

If Penzo is a better passer than Dungee then she is WNBA good because Chelsea is an elite passer. Its shooting off the dribble and off the catch coming off screens/curls that Dungee will need to get better at imo

Penzo is a WNBA quality passer.

Regarding Penzo, I think that Sherri's story of recruiting Penzo reveals a lot about how recruiting really works.

Sherri has said that she didn't need a guard or a recruit. She just happened to see Penzo and decided that she wanted her anyhow. She saw a skill set that she deemed valuable.

When you compare that story to the one in which she was scouting a couple of highly-recruited guards at a guard camp and came away liking the little guard who had run circles around them, going back to Norman, and deciding that she just had to have her, that she should take a chance on her (DRob), you see a lot more about what Sherri's thought process is. You also see how someone else's ratings of a player affect her.
