Here's what the beat guys are tweeting about it:

@Eddie_Rado: Christian James in a walking boot at #Sooners practice today, OU hoping its just a sprain. Happened today at practice.

@justinmhite: #Sooners wing Christian James rolled ankle in practice today. Not much when it happened. Walked around for 20 mins before getting a boot.
@ryaber: Christian James suffered a sprained ankle in practice today #Sooners. Has a boot on his L foot. They're hoping it'll be a short-term issue

@john_shinn: Christian James suffered a sprained ankle in practice today. He's day-to-day. #Sooners

@GuerinEmig: #Sooners G Christian James rolled ankle today. Sprain. In walking boot. Staff hoping he's better tomorrow.

That's disappointing. I hope that the injury is very minor.

We have been fortunate on the injury front for a couple of years.

seems like nothing to me. He was walking on it for 20 minutes and then they put it in a boot. The thought is probably get off it for a couple of days, miss one game and get back to it.

i an sure we can find someone to pick up his scoring ave per game..

OU

I was at practice. Didn't seem like much. My bet is the boot is precautionary to keep from putting any additional strain on on it.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if it was the ankle/leg he injured so seriously in HS?

HS injury was a broken leg

I know. I broke my leg playing baseball (guy took me out on a double play), and still have a plate and screws from 2 operations many years ago. I also broke my ankle on that same play. I favored that leg and it eventually caused some knee problems in the other knee.

wasn't really trying to be funny, just being serious.

no knock on James. He will get his time soon. he's a baller.

OU

oh I know..it just struck me as funny...no worries. Yeah, I like his potential.

most could tell from yesterday, but officially cleared to play

Question for those of you who attend practice and/or otherwise have inside info: Do you think there is a chance that James will occasionally be the first guard off the bench through the rest of the season? Lon has determined who the first big off the bench is based on matchups and production, but he has stayed with Walker as the first backcourt sub. James obviously was the guy that we went to in the second half Saturday when Woodard and Cousins were resting. I'm confident that Walker will help us down the stretch, but wonder whether the backcourt substitution pattern may start to resemble the frontcourt situation.

In conference games...
James +21
Walker -52

It's a huge issue!
