I'm not sure who this guy is or how credible he is, but he claims on his Twitter that if/when Knight is fired BCG will be the next Tech head coach. He goes on to say that BCG is close to several influential Tech boosters.

This is his website: http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/

Here's his twitter feed, the tweets were made late last night. http://twitter.com/SPORTSbyBROOKS

Of course this could just be worthless gossip, but since some of you are so inexplicably enamored with BCG I found it interesting.

I heard about this too.

I think it would be a great fit for Tech. Question is, would Tech be willing to take on the baggage that Clyde would bring with the Mike Leach controversy still going on?

He'll take them back to the NCAA tourny in a few years if hired.

For an answer to your question, look no further than Tech's former coach. The baggage Tech took on with RMK was totally different than what BCG would bring to the job. But Knight was anything but squeaky clean. He brought years of one controversial incident after another to Lubbock.

I agree, though. BCG would be a perfect fit for Tech. He's a good bench coach who teaches a tough, physical, defensive-oriented style of play.

All I know is..This should have been Pat Knights best year there and its been his worse. BCG couldn't do any worse than Knight.

Texas Tech is a horrible job right now b/c they have to compete against OU, OSU, KU, Tex, aTm, Bay, and now TCU for Texas players...plus all the other colleges out there.

I too initially thought of that, but I think the circumstances are somewhat different than when Knight took over in 2001.

I don't know all the details about the ongoing Leach ordeal, but with all his controversy I don't know if Tech would be willing to take on more baggage with its second biggest cash cow (basketball).

Not saying it wouldn't happen, I just don't know if it will or not.

Agreed. He just seems to have the blueprint for resurrecting D1 programs in Texas.
