Coach K says schools leaving NCAA 'could happen'

Coach K doesn't impress me as someone who is prone to making off-the-wall comments, which leads me to believe that this may be a move some schools are at least talking about right now.

And, who could blame them? The NCAA has set itself up as judge, jury and the unbridled executioner of a rule book so thick it can't be carried around very long, without help to lift the weight. Many of the rules it enforces are good ones that serve a purpose. But far too many are so ridiculous they leave you shaking your head in disbelief, when you read about a school being caught up in the maze of impossible to understand clutter.

The victims all too often are the student athletes the NCAA is supposed to protect, as well as school officials who were innocent of any wrong doing, while the guilty go their merry way. It will be interesting to see if what Coach K is saying sprouts legs at some point.

Not a shock, ask anyone deeply involved with collegiate athletics and they will tell you the same thing. The NCAA model is outdated and money making schools will pull away in the future.

I cant wait. The arrogance of the national communists against athletes is its outstanding characteristic. It protects some schools and rides others.
Both its policies and practices are dictatorial and unthinking.
