College Basketball Crown

Glad to see everyone else playing. I know that’s not a guarantee they are staying but good sign that they are not itching to get out.

keeping Brown, Reid, Atak, and Rogers (and Forsythe) is a solid base to build around.
Dayton 50/50 at best.

Hmmm...wonder why. Once he was healthy, he got his fair share of playing time. I doubt any school is going to break the bank for him. Can you share why you think it's 50/50 at best?

Family thinks he’s a starter.

If it’s solely Dayton. He’ll be a sooner.

His family is giving him bad advice then. Did they really think he deserved more minutes or a starting role over Nigel or X? Really?? He might be a starter at another school, but not a major P4 school. Nothing wrong with being the 6th man. Crap, the NBA gives an award for it.

When healthy, he averaged about 20-25 minutes a game. Pack and Brown averaged 30 MPG. Plus, down the stretch, he was in the game at crunch time when it counted.

Too many times, families and people are in players' ears telling them stuff like "you should be a starter" without realizing he's playing an important role and minutes already.

It’s always up to the player. If his family is involved, it’s because he lets them get involved.

Dayton isn’t a starter on a power conference contender. He could be a good bench piece on a team that is in the top half of their league, but if he wants to start, he will need to go to a team that isn’t very good. And money also factors into the decision making process. Some teams might pay more for a backup than others would for a starter.

I think it was incredibly short-sighted not to offer the younger Forsythe. We'll pay for the Nwankos and the Ataks of the world, but we won't pay for the younger brother of a current player? I question that decision.
Of course, with this staff, there are a great many decisions that I question.

To sit? He’s not SEC right now.

Kid wants to play. Not sit. I like that.

I think Dayton is a starter level player and hopefully he does come back and prove it.
