College Basketball Crown

I did not realize we could play in this until I heard there were two at-large teams. It was my understanding this was a Fox tournament for teams in Fox conferences (B1G, B12, Big East).

Glad we're in it. With payments to players on winning teams, it's better than the NIT.

Our guys were devastated Sunday night. We spent time talking about whether to continue our season in another tournament and we decided as a group we wanted to do that. We're not ready for this ride to end and we want to keep competing together. The Crown had a very successful first year in 2025 and is comprised of all high-major teams. We're looking forward to the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas and pursue a championship."

300k is roughly 20k per player. Not a bad little bonus.
 
I’ve actually watched a handful of Colorado games this year…since they play late at times. Their starting line-up is actually pretty decent. Good guards, and some good post players with length. Some of you may recall Sebastian Rancik, who heavily considered OU out of HS. He’s a skilled big man, but the guy who intrigued me was the other post Bangot Dak. 7 footer with some skill.

I’m headed to Vegas in the morning…I wish they played while I was out there.
 
If the players are going to stick around and get paid to play in this tournament, fine by me. Maybe that will be more incentive for them to stay at OU next season. It’s weird tho.

Why weird? Playing games and a chance at 20k.

Practice/off season skill work or Vegas and games?
 
I'll watch. Seems like a good thing for the players. Seems like a bad thing for OU financially

No, I just meant it’s weird that our team will be playing in April outside of the normal tournament, long after the actual season has ended.
 
Portal opens April 7th. Might as well play.

No harm in the portal.

And people will be recruiting even if we are playing the ncaa, nit, or crown
 
Is this the first year the NIT Finals aren't at MSG?

I guess if you’re staying off the strip at motel 6 and eating the free breakfast. Food isn’t cheap in vegas and rooms aren’t either unless you’re a professional or semi-pro gambler and you get feee rooms and discounted food.
