Conference predictions

My bad, overlooked that that one is a home game. 8-1 at home still seems like a massive jump for a team that has badly struggled to protect home court the past three seasons. Would love to see us even win seven at home.
For sure. I am a hopeful person.

That Texas is a w. Florida is winnable ole miss on the road is winnable
I like your prediction overall -- but if we get to 17-1 with a close loss on the road to Bama, we'll be in the top 5 heading into that Arkansas, A&M, and Auburn road stretch.

10-7 plus one conference tourney win...Definitely on the optimistic side. We'll more likely be in the 9-8 or 8-9 range in conference. The state of our Bigs doesn't bother me quite as much after going against Michigan, Louisville & Arizona's bigs. It's still a weakness but not crippling. I think this roster is better suited to make up for that weakness than last year.

I was optimistically thinking 10-7 as well. While I can understand why some would have the Sooners lower, it’s important to note that some of these ranked conference teams may not play to their pre-conference ranking.

I think our floor is 6 wins (if everything goes wrong) and our ceiling is 11 wins (if everything goes right), so I will say 9-9.

It’s interesting that on Barttorvik, it has us as favorites in 6 games, but the record projection at the bottom of the page is 7-11. Either way, his system is even lower on us than some of the others. I would be happy with 9-9 if the league ends up being as deep as it appears. Just feels like getting to .500 will be very tough.

I’d still love to have any news on the injured guys. Then again, not a single OU beat writer bothered asking Venables why our (allegedly) best skill player didn’t play in the bowl game, even though everyone expected him to play. So I’m not holding my breath that the basketball beat will do any digging.

If we had this nonconference success at any point from about 1980-2015, I'd have boldly put us at 12-6. Wouldn't have even felt aggressive.

In the near-decade since then, I feel conditioned to say 7-11.

I'm going to meet in the middle and say 9-9.

texas is a good team, not a great team. Moser needs to break through there. Stop losing to those assholes. No excuses. Best Texas and their little bros.
For the love of all things, yes please. And don't start choking to the Aggies. Bad enough losing to Tech all those years.
