Tier 1
KU
KSU

Tier 2
OU
BU
ISU

Tier 3
OSU

The rest...

An accurate assessment, at least to this point. It's nice to see OU in the top four again, instead of struggling to stay out of last place.

We are in the middle of a really rough stretch of games. If we can hold our own, we will be solid gold later in the year.

A little too early for me to assess but I suspect that is about right. I don't know how we are going to match up against BU and ISU yet. I am very concerned about defending the 3.

I wouldn't put KSU in the top tier yet. I don't think they are unbeatable. They may prove different later on but I don't see it yet.

This probably won't be a popular opinion on here, but if OU and OSU had flipped schedules to start the conference season. They'd be probably be flipped in tier 2 and 3.

This current stretch OU is on will go a long way into figuring where OU is in the conference then the relatively easy start OU has had.

That's going to be a tough road, and how OU respondes to it will say a lot of weather OU is a top 4 Big 12 team or a bubble/first four team.

Who have Baylor and ISU played?

ISU and Baylor have both already played at KU. Baylor is 4-1 with wins over Tech, TCU, osu, and Texas. ISU is 3-1 with wins over Texas, WVU, and at TCU.

Just need to try and win 1 of the next 5. Hate saying that b/c of what it could do to momentum, or confidence, but that is all we have to win to stay on track to Dance.

I agree with this. We have the potential to do it but when you watch us in spurts tonight and at KSU on Saturday you know we still need to improve to get there. Can we pull out some victories against good teams on the road? Can we take care of business at home against those teams? We don't know yet.

OU will do much better than that. They will win 3 or more of the next 6. These guys play really good defense. Additionally they have Osby, M'Baye, Pledger, Fitzgerald, Hield and Clark that are all capable of putting up double digits in Big XII play. Plus I suspect Hornbeak will have more than one double digit conference game this season.

This is just a mystery to me. Can we defend the 3 and take care of the ball well enough to win at ISU and/or Baylor? Can we beat KSU in Norman? (yes and I think we must). Can we beat KU in Norman? (I think we can on that given night but it will be very tough to do - we would have to finish much better than we did tonight).

Not convinced about either of a bit of each of these opinions... OSU has wins against TTU & TCU and have lost all of their true roads games this season. Their beginning BIG XII schedule has not been that much more difficult than OU's... They have had one more road game than us, but not sure that we would have a flipped record with their schedule. If you cannot win games on the road, then you will not do well in the BIG XII.

However, I do think this will tell everyone, whether OU is a double digit seed in the Tourney or a single digit. IF they can steal a win @BU or @ISU and then take care of business at home... they will be sitting pretty for their entrance to the tourney.

FWIW... I think we go 3-2 in the next five, with a win against KU this weekend. Somebody is gonna get em'... They have not done well when they are the overwhelming favorite, against good competition (See the ISU & Texas Games)... They are going to be undefeated and have just beaten a team we lost to... They will be vulnerable, and somehow we will take them.

All OU has to do in all of those games is to have more points on the scoreboard at games' end to win. Each of those teams are beatable on a given night.

I've been thinkin' a little like Denver...we can hope for a dominant game or two from Pledger and Clark, and possibly M'baye. We haven't seen those games yet this year. If we get them in a game where everyone else kinda does their usual thing, we have a great chance to win that game, whoever it is.

Maybe we'll luck into a game or two like that that in this five game stretch. Certainly, Pledger and/or Clark are due.

This.

2-3 over the next five would be HUGE.

Yeah, I'm not yet convinced that we're a tier above oswho.

Funny how little we've heard here from the aggie fans, though, since last weekend. Suits me fine.
