Daniel Orton considering going pro

I would think he would want to have 1 season as the man at Kentucky...he would be there most dominant inside player returning and would play a lot of minutes...

and when i say man, i still dont think he has the game to dominate but he would def put up some numbers and be noticed...

Chad Ford predicts him to be mid to late 1st round. I think with another season to expand his game (i.e. Ed Davis) he could not only be more prepared for the league, but also up his draft status.

No doubt in my mind he will be drafted if he chooses to come out...

but like you said, he would be more prepared and could improve his status...

He really hasnt proven anything against top level competition yet...basically like he is coming out as a high school freshman...cant tell a whole lot on 7-10 min a game where you dont even get many touches on the second unit...not knocking him, that's just his role this year...

From a chat with Chad Ford today:

seth (lexington): What do the NBA GM's think of kentuckys daniel orton?
Chad Ford (1:42 PM): They love him. I actually think it's possible (not likely, but possible) that Kentucky has 5 players in the lottery. Orton is the rawest of the bunch, but he's big, physical, plays defense and isn't afraid to mix it up under the basket. I just had a GM in the lottery tell me they liked him more than Cole Aldrich. I have him at No. 27 on our Big Board, but I'm getting the feeling that I've got him about 10 to 15 spots too low.
