Blevins also said he wouldn't want to be Joe Castiglione right now due to the coaching talent pool being low and the state of OU's program. Said it on the Sports Animal, FWIW.

That is good to hear from Blevins. I wouldn't want to be Dean Blevins. I doubt Joe C. cares about Dean's opinion any more than Dean cares about mine.

I had said on my post that OU was not a great job to have now and the process is showing.

Grats,
Would u like a cookie to go along with our crappy bball job?

If Gregg Marshall is knocked out of the nit tonight.. I'd wager he'll be introduced by the 5:00 p.m. news tomorrow :(

I hear this guy has some coaching experience. Apparently he has some real creativity drawing up plays too:

Said he thought Kruger would be a good hire but doesn't think he wants to move. No sources. On buzz he said he talked to someone who talked to buzz and buzz wants OU to be involved but OU has dropped out because of buyout.

If you like Deano or not he is right, this is a bad year for hiring coaches!!Joe C.should have done his homework on this one(after the Capel debacle)He should had targeted his coach & got him!!Just like so many other AD's are doing..Joe C.is going to be wiping egg off his face for a long time on this one.Go Sooners!!!!!

He should have done his homework before firing Capel.

Have we turned into the ugly girl at the prom or something? Surely there has to be a good coach out there that would be willing to take the job. I will now pause for the Terry Evans references from you TE supporters :p

Once again, I'm refraining from starting a new thread, but I'm looking at Wichita State's season on espn.com. Aside from an 83-69 loss at San Diego State (2 seed), the remaining 7 losses were:

UConn by 4
MVC Champion Missouri State by 3 at home, 5 on the road
MVC NCAA Tournament representative Indiana state by 7 in the conference tourney
VCU in a Bracketbuster by 1
UNI by 3 at home (beat them on the road by 18)

Best OOC wins: Virginia by 12 in Maui, Nebraska in the NIT by 27 (over The Mighty Doc Sadler, as some of you think of him)

On espn.com, the team stats are telling me two different things: on WSU's page, it says the Shockers are ranked 52nd in rebounds with 37.5/gm, and average 72 ppg. The national ranking of team stats, however, has WSU at 15th nationally with 79 ppg and 54th with 34 rpg. (37.5 would have them top 20).

I know the excuses will come out after this next part (the MVC is nowhere near Big 12 competition, we didn't have size or talent, etc. etc.), but consider:

OU ranked 255th in ppg, with 66.
OU ranked 327th in rpg, with 30.3.

Gregg would be an upgrade over Capel, no question. His record has improved each year, telling me he's winning with his own players. Maybe I'm settling here, but I think this would be a good hire...IF he can recruit at the necessary level for OU. Of course, you could've said the same for Turgeon, and that has worked out well.
