Deron Williams to the Mavericks.... possibly javale mcgee as well

They likely would have likely been one of the top 5 or 6 teams in the league along with GSW, SA, OKC, Houston, and Cleveland. Low-level contender, but contender nonetheless. Parsons-Dirk-Jordan is a great 3-4-5 trio. There's no way LA could have competed. The teams the Mavs have been putting on the floor these last couple years could run Kobe's squad out of the gym.

Like I said fighting with the Pelicans & Suns for the 7-8 seed IF they got Jordan. Would have still been behind the Warriors, Rockets, Spurs, Thunder, Clippers & Grizzlies. Jordan is a role player and with no CP3 feeding him would underperform. Teams without a stud PG/primary ball handler get shredded in the NBA and the Mavs have nothing in that regard.

Fortunately Jordan came to his senses that he was being conned.

So I think they'd be about the 6th best team in the NBA, and you think they'd be about 8th? Cool.

How does that compare to Kobe's team?

Dirk never asked for a guaranteed ring. All he wanted was a chance to compete, and certainly would have had that.

Man I feel sorry for you clients if you're really an attorney. You said the Mavs would be in "contention" with Jordan now admit they would have been 6th - 8th. Without Jordan they will be scraping along at .500 missing the playoffs but just good enough to never secure a top pick. No mans land.

Here's how Kobe is doing, he's making $50 million over two years while his team is reloading with high draft picks and not winning in the playoffs.

Dirk is making $25 million over 3 years while his team blows cap space on mediocre scrubs like Chandler Parsons and Wes Matthews, does not rebuild with any top draft picks and not winning in the playoffs.

So while Kobe got paid the lakers accumulated better talent and have more cap room when he's done. Kupchak + Buss = smart, Cuban = used car salesman dumb.

What?

Bwahahahahahahaha!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

:ez-roll::ez-roll::ez-roll:

I was going to ignore the rest of your post, as it's more of a strange collection of incoherent babbling than anything else, but I couldn't help but notice that part. You've got to be the only person alive willing to praise Jim Buss. Yikes.

Wow. Are you really so lame you can't even come up with your own line? Figures. Seriously tell us the truth in real life your a pasty white chubby xbox hero who never laced em up. lol

Jim Buss and Kupchak put together the Kobe-Pau-Bynum-Artest title teams. 3 finals in a row. Then the Chris Paul trade. Then the Nash-Kobe-Artest-Pau-Howard squad that got injured. lol @ his critics who never had an answer for what he could have done differently other than bring back Phil who was not physically or mentally up for the job.

What on Earth are you talking about? Seriously.

Kupchak is a great GM, and he's responsible for just about every good move the Lakers have made. When Jim forces a move, it's usually something idiotic like the hiring of Mike Brown.

I can't wrap my mind around how you think Kupchak and Buss built that title squad. As much as I respect Kupchak, he didn't even do much to build that squad. He was handed Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal from Jerry West. Kobe was far and away the biggest piece in that title run, and Kupchak did nothing for that. Odom came directly in the historically bad Shaq trade, but Kupchak saved face later by using other pieces to grab Gasol. In the end, Gasol and Odom for Shaq isn't much more than respectable compensation. Even if we assume that Shaq had no trade value beyond Lamar Odom, though, he was still handed his #1 and #3 players.
