Diamond Head moving to Orlando

Boulder, have you heard any conversations surrounding fan capacity at the LNC? I'm assuming 25% for the time being....maybe 50% by the start of the new year? It may be premature, but was wondering if any of this had been tossed around as of yet.

Does anybody know the number of games we're going to have? It's usually either 31 or 32 but I saw some model on ESPN that teams were going to play 25....?

Too bad the Washington game was cancelled. I was looking forward to payback.

27 seems to be the number, which means six games plus the three in Diamond Head.

is that any different than last year? lol....

sorry just had to .... for the record, IF I lived closer I'd be at most games

I was going to say the same thing. Based on the last couple of years social distancing and 25% capacity will be NO PROBLEM....including the student section!

one issue if they go to 25% is that there will likely be 0 walk up ticket sales because every game will be sold out

Fans have been social distancing for years. You could say we're ahead of the curve.

I am all for whatever is safest for all players and coaching staffs involved in Diamond Head... but what is the difference in flying to Hawaii and only going to the gym/hotel and going to Orlando and only going to the gym/hotel there?

I think it’s cheaper and easier to set up on bubble than to try to do the same thing at several tournament sites. Plus my understanding is that there will likely be some games between teams playing in different tourneys while they are all in Orlando. So we might be able to play one of the teams playing in the Maui Invitational, as a hypothetical.

Hawaii has quarantine restrictions.....Florida doesn’t give a rat’s....

Florida's effective reproduction number has been below 1.0 for the past 11 weeks. Hawaii cannot say the same.

Florida’s rate the last seven days is 2.4% and that’s the lowest it’s been since they decided wearing masks and closing bars were a good thing. They also have gone out of their way to NOT report some bad numbers. We may never know how many nursing home deaths occurred there the first two months of the virus.

Regardless, It doesn’t change the fact Hawaii is restricting visitors and has a mandatory quarantine making the move to Orlando logical.

Sorry, meant to say up 2.4% last seven days not at 2.4%.
