M'Baye is better (perhaps significantly better) and more experienced than both of those guys who play his position.

I bet he scared them off.
 
I could see that as a possibility. A juco transfer is going to want to play right away and they may see too much competition in 2012. It would be nice to find a freshman that can develop behind him for 2013 and beyond.
 
It didn't play a factor in either player. Location was the biggest factor with Austin and Criswell just had a last second change of heart.
 
Not qualified to answer the OP's question, but I will say that from what I've seen on video, M'Baye is going to be an athletic freak at the 4. Very quick and great leaping ability. Can't wait to see him play next year.
