Did OKC TV give much mention to OU's win over BU?

We only get Channel 9 on cable in Lawton now, and I think that's also the case in Ardmore and maybe Duncan (sucks to get little "Oklahoma news", but I digress). They led with the Thunder, who didn't even play last night, and had NOTHING on the game this evening.

I can't make a judgment on the early edition of the DOK, but I heard somewhere that they short-changed OU in the final edition too.

Are they that desperate to appear to be "not OU homers" that they'd screw over the women's basketball program? Something reeks in the OKC media, and I'm sure it wasn't any better in Tulsa.

I would say that the game didn't get a LOT of exposure as one would think it would after such a big upset. It was mentioned in like a passing manner in my opinion.

The local FOX TV station (OKC Cox 12) seemed the most excited about the big win, and from what I saw, had by far the longest story on the game. Byron Patton is the sports director for that channel and does a good job on LOCAL sports.

Of course OKC Cox 37 (FOX Sports Oklahoma/Southwest) carries the weekly OU sports programs. Besides the 30-minute "Sooner Basketball with Sherri Coale" there is also the hour long "Sooner Sports Talk" (Lon Kruger and Sherri Coale join Toby Rowland live from Rudy's in Norman) on Thursday nights, with multiple replays afterward. It was a lot of fun watching Sherri on that live show last night. The Baylor win was certainly a big deal on that local OKC FOX station.

WBB, as much as we love it, is an afterthought for most news outlets. They don't have the staff to cover it usually. It's normally a reader for broadcast news and the local papers often pick up wire stories when a game is out of town.

They don't have the staff, money or interest in covering it right.

KFOR is the best to mention WBB. Brian Brinkley works there and does a good job with it.
