Sorry, but college basketball is a joke. Between the poor fundamentals you see, the atrocious officiating and the biased announcing, I just don't enjoy the game anymore.

I counted 7 times where we had our hands in the ball and lost possession at one point in the game. Finally, MSU scored. That's rediculous. Who team coaches fundamentals because it's all about athleticism. We pay millions for coaching that only focuses on tactics. .

So many charges are really blocking fouls. Guys aren't set and the lean like crazy. Guys get wacked, hammered and bumped and there's no call. Amazing. You want me to believe that these players don't foul doing that but Magic Johnson did? Not likely.

The announcers, like Vern Lundquist, can't suppress their interest in certain teams.

The only way to stop this trend, turn it off. No money, they change. Keep the status quo, they keep cashing the checks.

Not nearly as bad as the NBA where the inmates run the asylum and coaches are ignored.

That is a narrative based on nonsense. Pretty much no truth to it at all. Or at least the teams you are thinking of are the exception rather than the rule. The stars in the NBA certainly have a lot of power, especially when it comes to free agency, but the league has a ton of good coaches and lots of teams run good systems. The NBA is very strong right now across the board and I do enjoy it more than college hoops for sure.

However, the OP is was overly dramatic for me. I can compartmentalize it. College hoops is without question an inferior prouduct for me compared to what it was 15-20 years ago, but it is still a product worth consuming. The game has lost almost all of its fluidity and it is absolutely over-coached, but the games are still entertaining enough and the tournament is still fun. Hopefully they make some necessary rule changes to improve the product, but even if this is all we ever get, I'll still "buy" it.

Fair weather fan

I understand the ops frustration but completely disagree.

But if you do not enjoy a product anymore it would be silly to keep using it

I think the product has definitely gone downhill. That said, won't stop being an OU basketball fan and I think OU plays some of the more entertaining basketball in the country.

I love OU basketball, so I'm not going anywhere. This was a fun season, and the future is bright.

Agree completely. Oh, and congratulations to MSU. The Spartans played tough defense in the second half and probably derserved the win. They also got lots of breaks and fortunate bounces, but that just part of the game, I guess.

NBA isn't basketball. It's entertainment USING a basketball! And it's existence how it is has had a hand in ruining the rest of high school/collegiate basketball.

NBA is terrible. As bad as college basketball is I would still take it any day over the WWE or I mean NBA...

Maybe you can take an English class with all this open time you will now have during basketball season.

I loved this season of college basketball. I especially enjoyed watching the Sooners. The fundamentals weren't any worse this year than they have been in prior years.

As a person who watches a lot of both the NBA is is in a good spot now after working hard to free up the play and let players get more space to make plays. Sounds like a bunch of you haven't watched much of it the past couple of years because the quality of of play is better then it's been in a while.

College has some issues, there's a reason they're trying to make changes like opening up the lane more, lower the shot clock to 30 and of course change the never ending charging calls. Right now college doesn't have a great flow to it in most games and it gets bogged down in fouls - end game situations become a nightmare also with the continuous flow of fouls called non stop.

I love both for what they are but changes in college need to be made and will be made in the near future (i.e. NIT rules).

Can you give some of the changes being considered? What rules are modified for the NIT?
