We didn't come to play and we didn't shoot it well.

Uh ok. If we don't shoot it better and come to play we're gonna go to the nit.

Not an over reaction. Just fact.

Uh ok, I think we have shot it well virtually all season, and this probably the second egg we have laid all season. I don't see this as a seminal moment in our season where things are falling apart.

Overreact meaning we aren't going to finish in the top 3 in the Big 12 ? The main issue is that our defense is still just severely lacking and if we don't shoot it well we can lose to everyone on our remaining schedule except TCU.

I'm not overreacting, but feel we must have 21 wins on Selection Sunday to be firmly in the Dance. I was really counting on getting #19 tonight. We're not going to be playing three worse teams than TTech from now to the end of the year, so we had better pick things up.

Our easiest game (and none of them will be easy) is at TCU. Next is home against WVU. We need those two badly. Then, we will have to find a way to win at least one of these --> at OSU, at KU, vs. Texas or vs. KSU. In other words, we still have some work to do before solidifying an NCAA berth.

I would be surprised if we don't win at least 4 of the remaining and probably 5. IMO, the only game we have a small chance to win is @KU. All the others are very winnable.

At least we had enough heart to make it a game last night. I think the guys will be focused on Saturday and will play well the remainder of the season.

Let's also not forget we are talent deficient, have zero depth, and no size. It's not like we are the 88 or 2003 roster.

We were long overdue for a "bad" game. Tech is hot right now and we turned the ball over way to much for 30 mins of the game and it clicked the last 10 mins. In the big 12 you cant do that, these are wake up calls that teams need.
Saying this team is overrated, not that good, very avg, lack of talent, lack of coaching etc... is over reacting.
Just chill, we cant win them all (this year)...!

"ill be surprised if we don't win 4 of the remaining 5" ....are you not surprised we just went 1-4 is this stretch?? Just curious.

Everyone on the team shot 50% or better except Hield and Woodard. Saying we didn't shoot the ball well oversimplifies how bad this loss was. We lost to a mediocre team on our home court in a game that we were barely in and this is one that will hurt come selection Sunday.

This is now our 3rd loss in 4 games, with each loss getting worse than the one before. We are trending the wrong way, unfortunately. We basically have no chance of being a top 5 seed now unless we win out. It's hard to overestimate how bad this loss was for this team. This team needs to do an about face or we will be a one and done in the tourney and I don't think anyone was thinking that 2 weeks ago.

And most OU fans said we wouldnt make the NCAA tourney. So have we overachieved and now back to reality or had a bad game and you are over reacting?

1-3.

No, I'm not surprised. Ames is the 2nd toughest place to play in the Big 12 and ISU is very good. West Virginia is playing well and road games in the big 12 are not easy. I think we would have won that game if it weren't for the travel issues. We looked tired and asleep in the first half.

The only loss that surprised me was last night.

There is a big difference between overachieving and exceeding fan's expectations. We have exceeded fan expectations, but I wouldn't say we have overachieved until we are a Sweet 16 team. I think it's pretty hard to overreact to a loss to a mediocre team in mid-February on our home court, in a game that we were getting waxed in for the most part. Losing last night and having lost 3 of our last 4 will severely impair this team's chances of making a run in the tourney.

Disagree. Last night, actually the last 4 games, has no impact on our ability to make a run in the tournament. If we get favorable matchups we can make a run. If we get a bad matchup in the 1st or 2nd round we won't. It's pretty simple really.

When I say "favorable matchups", I don't mean we need a 4 seed or higher. I'm talking about the teams we will have to play.

On another note, kind of odd you are so active since you haven't posted much after ranking OSU ahead of OU in your power poll the day after we beat OSU soundly in Norman. Is that just a coincidence?

Never thought we would make a run in the tourney this year, so I'm sure not overreacting to last nights loss. If we lose games next year like last night with 3 juniors starting then it is more of a problem.

Getting a higher seed = getting more favorable matchups. Losing 3 of 4 and losing to a bad TT team on your home court in mid February = worse seeding. Worse seeding = less favorable matchups. Get it?

Really? I average 0.04 posts per day over my 4 years on this board and I have posted 25 times in the past 2 weeks, pretty regularly.

We had a higher seed in 03 and drew Syracuse and their zone defense in New York. Last year we were a lower seeded team but drew a horrible matchup vs SDSU. Had we drawn Georgetown, we may have advanced to the 2nd round.

Get it?

We made the Elite 8 in 2003, right? I am sure being a 1 seed had nothing to do with us playing a 16 seed, an 8 seed, and then a 12 seed.

And the same 15 seed that beat Georgetown last year beat our "horrible matchup" of a 7 seed.

You really want to argue that your chances of a "bad matchup" go down as your seed goes down?
