St. John's is up 60-38 with 15 minutes to go.

This is shaping up to be a fantastic weekend.

If this...

...is correct, then St. John's has 1 5-star commitment, 6 4-star commitments, and 1 3-star commitments all in this year's recruiting class. Can that possibly be correct? If so, Lavin is going to have St. John's revisiting their glory years.

Someone tell me about this Nurideen Lindsey from Redlands who is going there.

edit: St. John's lists 10 seniors on their roster. WOW

I LOVE how johns is playing... I always thought this how we would play under capel.. Unfortunately it's anything but that.. There ball movement on offense is great and they are playing some outstanding defense

That is correct. Glad to see St. John's getting back to relevance. Love to see meaningful hoops played in the Garden.

Everytime Duke loses I know the world is a better place. Everytime they get blown out I think there is a God.

Seriously though the situation at St John's just shows you what the college BBall landscape has become. Word was out bigtime when they were looking for a new coach that this time there wasn't going to be the typical local NY guy being brought in from one of the lower colleges in the area. Everyone knew the AAU coaches decided that St John's was going to hire a guy who they wanted and they got their main in Lavin. For those who don't know you should check out their recruiting class for 11 as compared to the prior years. They are getting 4 star + kids from all over the country to go to St John's which doesn't even have a damn campus and is located in Queens. I don't think anybody should be surprised if they are ranked in the Top 10 next year.

Well to my point, it's well known Capel isn't big on the AAU circuit, OT was and got us some big time recruits (ok and yeah the other crap). Anyway we're going to have to make some serious headway, somehow in that area if we want any chance to recruit top level talent to OU. St John's was as dead a job as there was for a long, long time, within a 2 year period they've beome relevant again. Nobody is going to say Lavin is a championship level coach but he knows what it takes to bring in talent and it looks like handle it.
