2025-2026 Roster (as of 2May25) Hansen Committed

my current projected 2 deep

1. Brown / Forsythe
2. Pack / Blair
3. Jones / Nwankwo
4. Davis / Reid
5. Wague / Rodgers
Blair will never play a minute of basketball at OU as the "2".

We are likely going to see:

1/2 - Brown, Pack, Forsythe, maybe Jones
3/4 - Jones, Nwankwo, Reid, Davis, Atak
5 - Wague, Rodgers, and maybe Davis

I think Atak will earn playing time before Blair. I don't expect Blair or Holst to play much this year. Probably not Hansen either. If we add another player, that would eat into somebody's time as well.

Rather than Blair getting minutes at the 2, I think they'd just slide Jones or Nwankwo down.

Jones will play 0 min at the 4 he is a wing 2/3

Blair is also a wing 2/3 ... (he is also OU's highest rated recruit) ...

Nwankwo if healthy can play 2/3/4 ..

You are right about Jones. Not sure why I included him in that group. But I think it just supports my idea that Blair won't be the backup 2.

I see Blair as a 3 that is closer to playing the 4 in a small line up, than the 2. JMO.

I'm aware of his ranking. I'm also aware of his rawness and limitations being a guy that doesn't focus on bball 100% of the time.

Well damn. Think OU's NIL for basketball could, I dunno, kind of help? Kind of? Maybe?
everything i have read and heard tells me that he plans to be at OU ..

as i have said before if he is drafted he won't be at OU ..... and if he really wants to be at OU he won't be drafted ..

I am not saying you’re wrong or trying to play devil’s advocate, but I think you have to take what he and his family say with a grain of salt. It could be 100 percent true, but it also could be an attempt to negotiate as big a signing bonus as possible out of a big league team. That ESPN draft analyst who listed Blair as one of the guys in the 50-50 category is very plugged into the draft. He obviously talks to scouts and front office people, and agents, so he has a good idea of which kids are truly dead set on college and which are open to signing. Blair obviously is an interesting case because he also has the option of playing a second sport in college.

If baseball is his best sport, or the one he has the most potential in long term, it would definitely set his development back a ton if he spends three years moonlighting as a basketball player. If he gets drafted and signs, he could get 1,500 plate appearances in the next three years while also working on the game full time. If he goes to college, he gets maybe a few hundred plate appearances and misses a ton of practice time.

Again, no idea what he will do. It’s just a lot for him to think about.

i think it is now very clear that he and his family were 100% serious ... and planned to come to OU ..

My guess is they likely told teams that if they wanted him to sign, they would need to draft him by a certain point and/or meet a specific asking price. If they met that price, he would have gone, but was willing to go to school otherwise.

don't think so ... pretty clear he would not have signed for mid 2nd round money ..

maybe he said i will sign as a 1st round pick .. but that was never really a possibility either eay

You have done nothing but chime in anytime someone brought up Blair over the past several months…that he probably wasn’t going to even be here…so basically why bother to even talk about him!! Anyone who pays attention here knows exactly what I’m talking about. Sometimes, money isn’t the most important thing in a decision for everyone’s life!

Let’s all just be happy that he’s now a Sooner and enjoy the time he’s here! I look forward to seeing what he brings to the table for both programs.

I take it he’s playing baseball as well?
I'm sure he'll try.

People always underestimate how hard it is to actually play two sports in college. Very few have done it successfully in the last 10-15 years.

It's been said baseball is the sport he likes the most. We'll just have to see how that plays out. Basketball season starts first, so that will be the focus initially, I'd imagine.

It's hard to play baseball for Skip as a freshman. And him missing till mid to late march at the earliest probably means he has no chance of playing.

It would be insane of him not to play baseball. It’s pretty clearly his best sport, as he was seen as one of the top 50 or so players in the country. Redshirting would set his development back a ton.

Do we know with certainty what kind of agreement Skip and Moser have? In other words, if he isn’t getting much/any playing time with the basketball team when baseball comes around, are we sure basketball will remain his priority till whenever the season ends?

Tatum didn't see any time in baseball last year and was like a couple weeks late for their first practices. James Nesta was on the baseball team last year and didn't play either. I believe he's only doing football now.

I don’t think either of those guys was considered a potential top 50-60 pick.
