I am not sure that I understand why you are asking me this, since I said I don't think stats are relevant without surrounding factors so I don't put much stock in them. I don't think they necessarily show how good a player is or is not. They of course are something to consider. Plus, since you were mentioning EJ'S stats and Mulkey's stats as juniors in high school and go on to say that "plenty who have had...but had poor to fair stats in college...rare when stats improve in college." Again, I am not sure the point as far as how they will do in college, except that if you don't have great stats in high school, you probably won't have them in college. I am certainly not saying I don't have high hopes for both players.
I believe you took my comment personally regarding stats and it wasn't. Many people put more stock in stats than I do. I am not talking about high school or college, just stats. I think many factors affect them and though sometimes when I have seen a player on a team and seen the player and team play often, I might think more of a player or players' stats. Stats to me are not completely without merit when judging a player, so I don't mean that. Plus some stats are more valuable to me because there are not other factors influencing them. For example, if a player shoots 90 percent of her free throws and she shoots a fair amount of free throws, then for me that is a valid stat. Thus, my comment was completely about the value I put on statistics without other information involved. Again, I was not criticizing you, I just have a different opinion. And as much as stats are talked about, I am sure I am in the minority
