Vivi made quite an impression on me, and I understand that she has learned a lot in the offseason. She made huge strides last year, ending the year as a pretty solid defender, shot blocker, and rebounder. She was not even a year away from having a torn ACL. I would say that she looked pretty athletic out there.
I don't know that EJ and Vivi are necessarily in competition. I think both will play. We may even see McKenna out there. We are looking at the last year of Kay Kay, with Nancy entering at the end of the year. Our post situation is changing dramatically with EJ, Vivi, McKenna, and Nancy, and the issue will be who can do what with whom? I assume that Nancy will probably only see about fifteen to twenty minutes per game as a freshman. The key is who can best fit with her to provide a solid interior defense with strong rebounding, as well as who can thrive off the of the attention that Nancy will draw.
Nancy's primary role will be to disrupt the other team. Who can team with Nancy to make the offensive end productive?
