ESPN on Tiny

no one is giving him a guaranteed contract and drafting him in the first round.

no one.

On some level I'm kidding around. But I think he: (a) does get drafted; and (b) does see some game time. If you are going to learn the game, may as well get paid for it I guess. I'd of gone to school for another year or two myself.

On another note, i'm the #317th player on Chad Ford's list!!!! I'm declaring as well!

If you aren't drafted in the 1st round you aren't guaranteed 1)a contract or 2)a roster spot. Correct? Didn't Corey Brewer (OU, not Florida) get drafted in the 2nd round by the Heat but then not even show up to try out to make the team?

What are the prevailing odds that he is back in school next year? I mean, it is fun to have your name mentioned on ESPN about declaring for the draft and seeing gullible folks wringing theri hands about it. However, in the darkest of night, when nonone is around, and it is only you, unless you are delusional you have to know that your chances of going undrafted are real high - probably higher than your chances of getting drafted.

That, in my books, is a hellaciously poor bet. Sorta like the Phil Mickelson Master's shout that will go do down in the record books as one for the agess. As my golf coach said (he played on the PGA), the only people who think that was a great shot are the media and the the couch potatoes - there were way too many things that could go wrong with that shot (only they didn't).

I'm not arguing either of those things. But I think he does get drafted and he does get an opportunity to make a team, if he doesn't, he still gets paid to play basketball (and work on his game full time).

i wonder if he declared b/c of what he expects to come out about the investigation or that he doesnt want to get caught after the draft and they tell him he isnt eligible to play next year. i think he only would have stayed if he knew before the deadline what the outcome of the investigation is.

Like I said, there is nothing in any of the quotes I've read from Tiny or Capel that indicates coming back is a possibility or even an option.

1%, and 2/3rds of that is him attending classes in whichever city he happens to be residing in when the fall rolls around.

I think this is a def. possibility.

i don't think that's how it happened. i think there was a labor dispute that year and he was eager to play but there was no practices or anything going on at the time on any team and had to wait till it resolved.

He'll be drafted in Europe--does that count? I wonder what he'll be called in France: Litre Petite?

Corey Brewer came in during a lockout season and then tried to hold out for more money.

Can Tiny come back?

Sure Tiny can come back. Probably get a pretty good seat with a General Admission ticket.
