Friend who works at V-Tech sent me this link today after they scrimmaged West Virginia and said that during the scrimmage they looked like they could be a Top 5 team nationally.

I find it interesting that they aren't really in any of the national preseason Top 25 polls as of yet, but our coaches have them finishing 3rd (with 2 first place votes). Their record last season really doesn't reflect how tough they were. Most of the games they lost they had double digit leads in, and then they fell apart at the end.

Still think there are some question marks with the players returning from injuries (Bussie and Harlee), but we did seem to struggle against them last year (especially whenever Jo wasn't in the game).

In my opinion their achilles heel could be the new rule changes in tightening up physicality and increasing foul calls. We shot 92 free throws in three games against them last season. Gotta think we could end up shooting 100+ this season.

We will be a really good free throw shooting team so if they want to send us to the line I'm fine with that.

With the new rules changes, WV is going to have to convince me that they can be a first division team. They have never been a real basketball team. They make A&M look delicate.

Has anyone verified that the 'new' rules are going to be enforced in the women's games?

During the Media Day interview on SoonerSports.com., Sherri is very emphatic in stating that there will be no doubt this year that the rule changes will be enforced. She also states clearly that she expects the plethora of foul calls to result in long games, and that we may need everyone on the bench as people foul out.

Yes, and we're not a team that plays particularly physically.

I agree, we are not a physical team. I expect us to get most of our fouls from reaching-in and probably pushing in the back.

WVU was awfully "thuggy" in their play, so this will be interesting. OU has been more finesse than physical (except when against very physical opponents) so I think the rules change will help OU - if it is enforced beyond the first 2 weeks.
