just sitting here watching msu and purdue. wow, purdue's fans are loud.

it'd be nice for OU to really look at things to get the students involved. Heck, make it free. put kids closer...

ah well...just talkin out loud.

More than one poster has commented that the LNC was dead last night for the Texas game. I wasn't there, but on the ESPN telecast it sounded like the fans were going nuts much of the time.

Of course it always got quieter whenever the whorns made a couple of big shots. But other than that, I thought the crowd noise was great. Guess you just had to be there.

The crowd's been great this year, or so it has seemed from my vantage point in NYC. The fans were kind of quiet in the first half last night, but texas kind of punched the team and the fans in the mouth in the early going. The crowd got going when the team did.

One of the Sportscenter talking heads last night talked about how crazy loud it was in LNC last night, so it seems the crowd came through when it counted.

have you been to a game recently to confirm this? B/c from TV the students look like they are doing a fabulous job. dressing up, filling the seats, and going crazy

We started loud, got punched in the mouth, and quieted down. Every time we hit a 3, fast break, or dunk, we got loud again. But Texas countered almost every time, so they awere always short bursts. The last part of the 2nd half was decent and I am pretty sure i busted the ear drums of the older couple sitting in front of me on buddies shot. They seemed to be OK with their ears bleeding though. :)

The crowds have been great this season for the most part.

It was one of those games where the opponent did a pretty good job of limiting our runs and keeping the home crowd out of the game. When we made big plays, you could hear that the crowd was really into it.

There may have been the most student attendance Monday night since Lon has been in Norman. Student section went all the way to the top.

The rest? Probably the same as always. The fans that can't go to a late game, don't like LNC, ____________(fill in the blank excuse), blah, blah, blah didn't attend. But it was a better than average OU basketball crowd.

There were over 10k butts in seats. It was a GREAT crowd. No complaints.

To be fair, this was probably Purdue's biggest home game to date. It would be kind of like judging OU's home crowds based exclusively on the KU game Saturday. I bet if you tuned into Purdue's home games vs. Nebraska or Ohio State, you'd be less impressed.

OU's crowds for the "bigger" games (ISU, WVU, UT) have been pretty good this year. I expect it to reach another level Saturday.

I was there Monday and the crowd was great. Obviously Texas had taken the crowd out in the beginning, but it came back around as the game went along. The only complaint I had with the crowd is with the under 4 timeout some people started to leave. I'm guessing they were going to watch the rest of the game standing up top in the concourse level. Not sure why some would do this and I don't buy the "I wanted to beat the traffic" story. Stay put and be loud!

Death, taxes, and people leaving the LNC at the under 4 timeout no matter the score.

The under 4 "Boomer Sooner roll out" happens every game no matter the circumstances. It could be tied with the #1 team in the country and a segment of the fans are going to leave at the under 4 TO. I've just learned to live with what I can't rise above.

I have attended every home game since Capel's first year. No crowd this year has been a bad one. I think the KSU loss took a lot of wind out of our sails. Like someone else said, every time we got within 2 points Texas answered. Couldn't get any momentum.

LNC, OMS, or any other OU athletic venue! I think OU fans invented leaving early as I can't remember when they didn't!

It was a great crowd! Just disappointed in the empty seats throughout that you can plainly see and then go home and re-watch and you still see those empty seats. But you're right, it was a very good crowd!

no I haven't, I guess I didn't state that very clearly....looking at a lot of other venues, the students seem to be down lower...right on most courts...

not bashing the students, just thoughts...

Team didn't give them much to cheer about. It is hard for a crowd to stay in the game when the home team trails most of the game.
