Spoke with a person who has seen Gibbs play.
Says she's A Lefty and Very " Raw Talent" .
What's everyone's view on this?

I think that it's still very possible for big time players to fall thru the cracks of recruiting in women's hoops just like men's hoops.
I don't think Nyeshia was accurately evaluated in recruiting either.
And she went from "raw" talent to key cog in a final four run.
Not that we really have a recruiting guy that we trust.
Felicia had excellent HS stats (18/8 or close to it).
Usually players like this are boom or bust.
If possible a redshirt year would be a great idea.
But a super athlete who is 6-2 would be a great addition on the roster

You want great athletes but you also want to see basketball skills. I think we are all anxious to see what skills she has and what skills she will develop over the next 2-3 years. I agree with Atlantasooner that she might be a great candidate for a redshirt.

With 15 schollies, it doesn't hurt to gamble on a "project", particularly a "big", that is athletic. I think you have to be more careful on the boys side, as they only have 13 schollies to give.

Like Syb has said, there is so little information out there on Gibbs, that it makes her interesting.

Anymore the big programs focus on the AAU programs, and if you don't play on those teams, I think you can slip through the crack. Maybe that is the case with Felisha.

In any event, you can only really play 8-10 kids, and so you have room for a kid that might take a year or two to help.

These are her reported stats:

Gibbs averaged 21 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks and two steals in her senior season, earning all-state honors from the Arkansas Activities Association, which governs high school athletics in the state.

Felisha played AAU ball but I don't know what her stats were.

I saw that Gibbs had been on an AAU roster. When I found that roster, she wasn't on it.

I have no idea what to make of Gibbs yet. I find it fascinating that Sherri could have waited. Supposedly, we are in the hunt for some pretty good players. Since we have fourteen, we don't really need additional bodies for practice. Yet, Sherri elected to sign Gibbs rather than to take a chance on a more highly-rated prospect next year, and she chose to have Gibbs here, among fourteen, rather than wait. Sherri must have seen something.

I'm excited to see her play, she did what she was suppose to do and that's dominate lower level talent. 21 and 12 is pretty good, but she will need to have some skills if she's going to see the court for Sherri.

I think rebounding will be key to OUr success this year. If she can make a meaningful contribution there, it would be great.
