Fill in the blank

Re: Full in the blank

All of them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need all of them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Full in the blank

Difficult. Gioya is our scorer. But, our interior depth is very, very young. I would have to say Kay Kay right now. I think it is easier to mask over others who we really need.

I would pretty much have to agree with this, at least if we're talking about the starters and the first 2-3 off the bench. Of course, Kaylon is critical; we need her inside play. And Gioya is one of the 2-3 best players in the Big 12, so we can hardly afford to lose her.

But Gabbi, Little and Maddie are all critical pieces as well. Everyone else who sees any significant minutes provide needed depth and quality play.

One, just one!

Okay, two if you have to, but that's it. :)

Kaylon, she affords us the luxury of most teams having to double team on the block leaving someone open to burn them. She is becoming money down low. Norm like I said earlier in the day. I'll take lay-ups over jump shots all day long.:)

She was fantastic today, pretty much the epitome of a smallish post player with athleticism and uncanny technique down low.

One of many that make this team what it is.

Kay Kay and Vivi are what TCU has to give away. Their tallest starter is 5-11 and is no match for either.

There isn't a wrong answer and different ones can see the team needs a little different.

I know my choice is not the conventional answer but, I'm going with Gabbi. She has a visible confidence which is important in a PG. She communicates very well with her teammates. She is making fewer mistakes as she gains experience. She plays pretty good defense. She is a good passer and she can knock down shots when needed. She is a good rebounder and ball handler. I believe she is the closest thing to a coach on the court that we have had in a long time. I think she is exactly what Sherri has been looking for.

I believe that Gabbi is a first team AA in the making. What presence for a young player!
OU has an abundance of that on a really young team.

I say Gabbi, too. To me the PG is the most important player on the court. Second would be Peyton. She is everywhere on defense.

Whomever is behind building the team chemistry. Not really sure who it is, but this team seems to enjoy playing and seems to enjoy playing with each other. I see a team out there regardless of who are the 5 on the floor.

Kay Kay

not only has her play improved but she appears to me,to be a vocal leader.

Sounds like Whitney may deserve a lot of credit for chemistry. Sherri mentioned on coaches show this week that Whitney has been very important in the locker room so far. Being that we really don't have a lot of upper classmen this year, that might have been one of the better coaching moves this year to add Whitney to the roster to be an additional leader.

I have to wait and see. In the past two games, Sherri has done something that surprised me. I thought Maddie was sufficiently injured to remain on the bench a lot. Once Sherri substitutes Maddie into the game, she remains there for the rest of the half. She doesn't come back out.

Then, there is the issue of who is running the team. It was stated clearly that Sherri told Maddie to take over in the Texas game. Why Maddie? Gabbi is our point? But, once Maddie entered, everyone deferred to Maddie as the one in control, and it worked. We barely noticed that we had lost Gioya for most of the game, and we survived long bouts without Kay Kay or Sharane.

Coincident with this, Peyton seems to be stepping up her involvement. She has had several steals and breakaways in the past two games, and I didn't expect that from her. I expected a shooter.

But, if this trend continue, Maddie is the one that we need on the court. She seems to be the one from whom the enthusiasm and determination are flowing. We seem to be able to survive with Kay Kay or Sharane or Gioya on the bench, as long as Maddie is on the floor. She finds whoever is left to score.

I certainly can't dismiss your choice, Norm. Gabbi is a star in the making. Also, don't know if anyone else has noticed, but Gabbi is quietly becoming one of the best three-point shooters on the team…and that's saying something.

The more she plays division one basketball the more comfortable she becomes and confident on the floor. She is going to be special.
