Why did UNC make such a leap? They had a season last year that was roughly equivalent to, say, ours and ISU's. Do they have an amazing recruiting class coming in? (I think we've got some pretty special newcomers this season ourselves, but they're not getting all that much mention nationally.)

That is a nice poll for the Big XII conference. Three teams in the top 10, five in the top 25 and one getting votes. The ACC had 8 teams in those three categories but it was three top ten, 4 top 25 and 4 in others getting votes. Plus they have 50% more teams than the Big XII. If I actually know conference affiliation, nobody else had five ranked teams. It is really nice to see the Big XII getting respect in basketball.
