3. The Roadrunners play defense

Oklahoma faced a tough defensive team in West Virginia in the Big 12 tourney, and they'll get another solid defensive team in CSU Bakersfield.

The Roadrunners force 15.3 turnovers game while averaging 8.0 steals and 5.1 blocks. CSU Bakersfield held teams to an average of 63.2 points per game on 39.1 percent shooting from the field.

They do a good job of getting out to leads in the first half and could present problems to Oklahoma if the Sooners start out cold.

Interesting observation. OU needs to get off to good starts in these tournament games.

CS Bakersfield has only played one decent team all year - St. Mary's - where they lost by 35 and St. Mary's couldn't make it into the tournament. Wasn't their coach an assistant here under Capel?

OK. Be disappointed all you want. This is the NCAA Tournament. Win and advance works for me.

OU is favored in Vegas by 14 points. The over/under is 140 points. According to the Vegas odds-makers, that tends to "predict" an "expected score" of about 77-63.

And St. Mary's just barely beat NM State in the NIT last night - the same NM State team that Bakersfield beat to secure their NCAA berth.
