Guys/Gals who do we have coming in next year to replace our two seniors?

Will either be a post player to relieve KK?

thanks

Using the Notre Dame designation of post, we will have the following:

Kaylon Williams---remarkably improved late in the season. Seems to get it.
Vionese Pierre-Louis---a rather remarkable freshman who contributed less than eight months after ACL surgery. Talent.
McKenna Treece--nice footwork and touch, has to learn D-1 ball
Shaya Kellogg---good rebounder and nice touch. Must get healthy and learn
Ijeoma Odimgbe---reports are that she is a shot-blocker and rebounder.

I don't think we'll see Maddie at the four next year unless someone falters.

My vote (as if I had one) is for any big who can rebound. Too many times this season it seems like there is only KayKay battling 3-4 opposing players while the other four Sooners are either getting back on D or pushing for a fast break. No one seems to want to go get the ball.

I wish Spangler would give rebounding clinics during the summer.

I agree with you. Even when shots aren't falling (like last night) you still have a chance to win if you dominate the boards and defend like your hair is on fire.

Without a doubt, lack of consistent rebounding has been our biggest disappointment this entire year.

I'm sure part of the problem is the 4 guard offense, but if you want to run that (and it does have some redeeming values) you must design a plan to be competitive at rebounding.

I have thought about the Kansas loss. We could not hit threes at all. That is always a danger with an offense that relies too much on the three. Some games you will shoot poorly and have a very hard team winning no matter the opponent. That happened yesterday.

It is one of the long time characteristics of Iowa State teams. When the three is on they win a lot. But 2 or 3 times a year it disappears and they lose games they should win.

I do not believe you can build a championship team by relying primarily on the 3 point shot. Make no mistake I agree it is valuable and a great weapon. But you must have a reputation for other parts of the game to win consistently.
