Ford and Cousins

First, i don't know what to even say about Cousins tonight. Never seen a kid look that dazed. Several times he let a kid just take the ball from him and then just stand there and let the kid go down court for a layup. It was like he was a TT plant and was helping them out. He would then just look at Lon and smile. Just bizarre. I have been a vocal supporter of IC this season, even when he was making a lot of mistakes and playing poorly, but I don't know. I just don't understand tonight. Something was up.

Ford is the worst coach in the league. You guys watch the OSU/Kansas game. It is still going. In regulation and with 15 seconds, he calls a time out when he could have just told Smart to take the last shot. There isn't a junior high coach in America that wouldn't have saved his last timeout for the situation that actually occurred. His team doesn't score, Kansas gets a shot and then he only has a few seconds to score (in this case 3 seconds). With a time out, you throw the ball to the time line, call timeout and then throw it to a player in scoring position for a decent shot. As it was, OSU only got a full court heave, which Smart nearly made.

By the way, if you haven't watched Smart, he is really special. Best player I have seen in a while in the boys game. Man, I wish we would have gotten that kid.

That ball wasn't anywhere close to going in. It was way short. He hit the front of the rim (which is impressive from that distance) but he did not remotely nearly make that shot. In fact, it was physically impossible for that ball to score.

I couldn't disagree more on Smart. I think OSU might win 7 or 8 conference games without him. He's easily the player of the year in the league.

But there are literally people on here making him out to be the best player in the nation, and the best player in YEARS.
I'm not sure he's the best player in the league.
Hell, in terms of importance to their team, I don't think he was the best on the floor tonight. Jeff Withey is the difference in Kansas being a nice team and being a very good to great team.

Smart is awesome.......considering that he is gifted at least 15 trips to the FT line each game, looks like some fans aren't the only ones that want to pump him up.

He is a very good player, but gets the benefit of the doubt way more than anyone not wearing a KU jersey.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I can respect that.

As far as Smart getting preferential treatment, that is part of what makes him special. Jordan, Bird and Magic did as well. He understands the physicality allowed by the game and just understands positioning, contact etc to his advantage. Refs don't like him anymore than anyone else. He just knows how to draw fouls.

Someone noted that he only shot 2/14. This is my point, he was the dominant player on the court and didn't shoot like he normally does. He also missed some critical free throws.

I like him because he plays smart, has extraordinary anticipation, has the full complement of basketball skills, is a leader and plays harder than anyone on the court on either side. If I was a coach, I would love to have a kid like that on my team. He makes everyone better. While I'm not a basketball expert, there are experts out there that agree with my opinion.

Ton of good freshman in the Big 12 this year, including a few on our team.

Isiah needs to get his head on straight because OU will need his help down the stretch. Sam can't play 30+ minutes (without some diminishing returns) for the rest of the season.

I am at a loss to understand a few of the calls I have seen Smart get; however, I do not remotely believe the officials are intentionally giving him a break. Therefore, he must do something different in the eyes of the officials that I don't recognize.
