All three of them showed flashes of being really good today. I especially liked the defensive effort...

Hornbeak is a really heady player...

Agreed. Hornbeak just does a little bit of everything. Love him. He also played the most minutes of anyone today (28).

Gonna be a special group before it's all said and done.

Hopefully they are impressive enough along with M'Baye that Randle sees himself fitting right in for a special season or two!

From watching 3 games now...

Cousins-Long, scrappy and athletic point.
Hornbeak-quick, well rounded and beyond his years.
Heild-energetic, plays bigger than his size and a complete scorer.

Cousins and Hornbeak start because they'll get in your pocket defensively. Heild is basically the Sooner version of Dwayne Wade imo. He plays bigger than his size and will get multiple inside rebounds and put backs per game during his career. Really excited about that crew!

I think it's a bit premature to compare a college freshman to an NBA Finals MVP.

I said "sooner version", so you didn't get it... basically a poor mans Wade on a college level is his "potential". By no means did I say he's Dwayne Wade. Nice waste of comprehension and a post.:facepalm

I knew what you meant.

Another observation... Cousins and Hornbeak have a scrappiness and swag too them. They are not awed by being at a new level. They were talking **** to UCO all night.. Heild goes about his minutes as if no one can stop him and most of the time it's just him missing s shot not someone being able to D him up. I know this will change once the competition increases but the future and current year is bright.:OU-logo:

Weird, I have been telling my buddies he has the same type of game as D Wade. Wade was a Prop 48, so didn't play his 1st yr. His first season to play he averaged 17.8. We may need Hield to average that next year with all the seniors leaving...

Watching young guards develop is one of the most fun parts of college basketball. It's one thing to land a stud recruit, especially a post guy, who you know is going to be a star from day one. But those guys who come in and play a role early and just get better every year, until they're a legitimate all-conference player in year 3-4... those guys are special. Those guys make college basketball great.

Wish we could see the three OU guards vs. Mizzou's Negus Webster-Chan (6-7, and until Dixon gets back Pressey's bsckup at the point) for four years. Would be fun.
