GAME 27- OKLAHOMA (13-13) vs TEXAS A&M (18-8) 7:30pm CST on SEC NETWORK

Porter loser's sub patterns are weird. He doesnt hold players accountable (wague shot a 3 lolol - also see Tae's 3 attempts on the year...). He doesnt do the small things, like denying the ball to best FT shooters when fouling (not really a factor tonight tho). But it’s mainly that he allows softness and does not run a good offense. No movement. Junk aau 3s. Nwankwo and Jones were busts that he doubled down on..
Yes. Anyone watching this game saw softness levels on opposite ends of the scale. And that last play, whatever it was, was typical of his coaching at OU. Over 18s left; he calls a timeout; we throw it in deep and we shoot a quick contested 3. No screens; no play on the inbounds; nothing. What did he talk about during the timeout? Did everyone just run out there and ignore what he asked them to run? It makes no sense.

Mosier said play was for pack and Dayton took shot cause he was left open.

Pack is just so bad on offense when he’s not hitting shots. The ball goes to him, he dribbles aimlessly for way too long, and the offense gets nothing out of the possession.

Side bar - this team has some of worst screening and worst offensive spacing I’ve ever seen. How often do we have one guy handling the ball and a near crowd of Sooner players (and their defenders) come and crowd up the space. The ball movement sucks.

When a team repeatedly doesn’t run the play the coach allegedly designs, perhaps that’s another sign of poor coaching.
I wonder if the players have so little trust in Moser that Forsythe genuinely thought his shot was a higher percentage shot than what Moser designed.

No one is arguing mosier should not be fired. But players have to be held accountable by fans too. Blaming mosier for a bad play when that was not the play called is unfair. Plenty of other things to blame him for.

I’ve noticed this too. His offenses have been bad since he got here

This x1000. We'll have 2 guys in the lane at the same time touching even and our guard is trying to drive. Conversely watch tonight's game again with bucky's spacing

In his post game radio interview he said that was not the play it was set up for pack.
Pack threw the ball in. But the inbounds was weirdly designed to throw into the backcourt to Dayton. So if Pack was supposed to get a shot I have to assume it was supposed to be a game tying attempt with more time off the clock. But while Dayton had the ball i don’t recall any screens for anyone. The play doesn’t make any sense.

the Buck stops with Porter. That's the deal when you are the hc..he brought these players in, he had them on the court, and if there was failure of communication why does stuff like this keep happening..different assistants, different players, same HC same problems..

Terrible coach or not, it shouldn't be difficult to spell his name correctly.

I’d even say, I’m sure (I didn’t see the game) that a/m figured the play was for pack as well… if he’s guarded well, even doubled… (if he a was?) then something else has to happen.

Obviously there’s another team out there preventing you from running your play.

With that said, moser sucks and can’t wait for him to be gone.

I always torture myself and look at the boxscore after all our games. They only had two guys in double figures. We outrebounded them by 5. Where did we lose the game you might ask? Brown and Pack combined to shoot 6-20. That’s 30% and the team overall shot 33%. Terrible offense. In every game if we aren’t making contested 3-pointers we have no chance. Fire Porter Moser:

Most teams, regardless of the coach, will struggle to win games when the team shoots 33% and 3 of the starters are non existent in scoring (Davis was as big of a problem as Pack and Brown).

The difference is a good coach will have something else to help them win games, getting to the line, rebounding, forcing TOs…. And playing great D. They can grab a few games they shouldn’t win,

Defense, IMO, is all coaching, basketball IQ (from repeatedly doing it), and effort. We haven’t had it, at least in the paint, for 5 years. Thats not all on the lack of quality bigs. I’ve never seen a decent athletic team and coach struggle so much with help or weak side defense.

Basically, this team has to shoot 45%+ and have less than 12 TOs or the lack of defense kills us. No margin for error.

That’s inexcusable and all about coaching.

here is a clown quote

“Actually, the first time I’ve ever really been pissed,” Moser said. “I thought our shot selection (in the) second half was unacceptable. We had nine assists in the first half and we were moving the ball. We were getting to the paint, kicking. Talked about it at halftime, how we had nine assists. I said we’re gonna have another nine assists. Just keep moving it and sharing it. The way we started the second, our shot selection was unacceptable.

“But you can’t have bad shot selection. Everybody saw that in the second half. I’ll correct that. It’s the first time I’ve felt like that all year, that it’s been like that. And the two assists compared to nine in the first half is the storyline.”
