McCollum by the way has not played for GT in the last 3 months .. he had a concussion in late November early Dec ..
Agreed 100%McCollum should have been given a bus ticket home and told to turn in his gear.
Don't think a lot of a coach who doesn't have the balls to stand up to a player and for his team.
It's hilarious how everyone is turning this into a way to bash Porter.McCollum should have been given a bus ticket home and told to turn in his gear.

Mccullen cleared and choosing not to play was discussed last year after the game and this summer on radio and message boards. Toby’s story gives credibility, but a former player on last years team said this is what happened last summer.Another take: Toby has to walk a line as both a journalist/radio host and as the voice of the team. There are things he has to keep under his hat. Things we'll never know about the football, basketball, and baseball programs.
Wonder why he's coming out with this now? Did Porter give him permission?
100% on the kid but water is wet hereIt's hilarious how everyone is turning this into a way to bash Porter.
Where. Id like to go read. I dont remember it.Mccullen cleared and choosing not to play was discussed last year after the game and this summer on radio and message boards. Toby’s story gives credibility, but a former player on last years team said this is what happened last summer.
His player quit on him and he did nothing. What would Kelvin have done? It's hilarious how everyone is turning this into a way to bash Porter.
that player would not have been on the bench during that game ..His player quit on him and he did nothing. What would Kelvin have done?
Supposedly, he just showed up and said he was unavailable. Toby said his handlers got involved and talked him into not playing.i will say context does matter here ..
what did McCullum say? " I am hurt i can't play ? " or something else?
Whatever he said it pissed off PM severely. But not enough to do anything about it apparently.i will say context does matter here ..

And what would you have done? I'm curious.Whatever he said it pissed off PM severely. But not enough to do anything about it apparently.
Any player who quit on the team/coach would never see the court for me and would not be allowed to associate with the team from that moment forward. That’s unacceptable. And what would you have done? I'm curious.
I would have hinted at it from my mouth when asked and he would no longer be associated with the team, certainly not sitting on the benchAnd what would you have done? I'm curious.
McCollum quit. To do nothing is weak and unacceptable.“Moser should have publicly shamed McCollum despite getting nothing in return except negative recruiting!”
Same people also say “moser should not publicly shame the committee for leaving his worthy team out of the tournament (for 2nd time in 3 years)!”
It's a slippery slope. It's easy to say that from our couches, but at the time...he didn't know if we would be left out of the tourney or not. I assume he was hoping he would play in the big dance. PM was/is fighting for his job. Comparing his situation to what Kelvin would have done back in the days where he played in a bad Big 12 league are apples and oranges to me. But it all explains (a little) why Javian didn't return. FTGI would have hinted at it from my mouth when asked and he would no longer be associated with the team, certainly not sitting on the bench
