He was actually almost as obsessed with Lon as he is Bill Self. There was a lot of grumbling here in Lon's tenure post-Buddy, but he'd fervently defend Lon after 40 pt losses to Baylor. Even constantly defended the nepotism hire of his son. It's just personality disorder.

There were a handful of Lon stans, but there was only one Kevin Kruger stan, and only one that repeatedly said Lon was better than Kelvin Sampson.

Man your standards are low. At my high school, the gym barely has enough space to hang state title banners, let alone league runner up banners or whatever you aspire to.
