GAME 34- SEC TOURNAMENT - OKLAHOMA (19-14) vs ARKANSAS (23-8 8:30pm CST on SEC NETWORK

If you only knew. I could pump sunshine or my accolades whichever you prefer. Unlike you and half the board I would like to watch Oklahoma basketball again next week in a tournament game
I’ve always found that when people feel the need to brag about their credentials (I’m a coach! I played in college), it says a lot about their insecurity. The fact that you played some sport at some college is absolutely irrelevant in assessing Moser, so why bring it up?

Come on. There’s always an eye test and always bias. If not then no team they look at would have names, only looking at stats. That is not the case. If Duke and ou were both bubble teams, with similar records. Duke is getting in over OU the majority of time. They can say no I test, but when it’s a committee, there always is.
Picking Duke over OU because they’re Duke is the opposite of the eye test.

I don’t hate him, I just want him gone. If Joe C had any balls he would have done it a month ago.
During the 9 game losing streak pretty much everyone said they thought it's time for him to go. Just like when it was time for Switzer, Lon, Kelvin, Stoops, etc.. That part from the fanbase is easy to understand. The tarmac him and calling him cute little juvenile names, naw, I'm not in on that. Do what you want, but it clutters the board when that's the go to EVERY game thread... no worries, I'll just ignore it like I did all season, but it does get old. If they change coaches I certainly won't be upset, but if trends continue, it will only be a few years before the same people start the same discussion about whoever the next coach is..

I’ve been reading this board since maybe 2012 and I’ve yet to see Wichita(rd) ever be positive about the team. Maybe that’s a sign that he doesn’t actually get happy when OU does something good.
Maybe you should have gone to school and learned to read instead of playing sports. There are only two possibilities: you are lying or illiterate, because for the first six years I was on the board, I was called the biggest homer around because I supported Lon and the program so much. Every mod here knows that, as do most posters.

You did this 2 days ago!

This game was a microcosm of Moser's tenure.....just can't quite get it done despite the effort. I think he coaches hard and his teams play hard when he demands it (most of this season was an issue in that regard), but ultimately results matter. Would more NIL help our cause?....of course. But missing the tournament once again translates into "this just isn't working out like we wanted". He's probably here for another year regardless, but for your sanity, I would keep expectations low. This OU program remains in basketball purgatory....he isn't going to magically figure it out....that's where we are....sigh.

I included bias in my statement as well. Always eye test and bias when humans are involved.
You assume that the committee has time to watch all the games. Obviously they don’t. The “eye test” isn’t a thing for the committee. Sorry.

Guys, I love what Lon did for us after Capel - but we never outperformed our seed in any tournament except the final four run. And the last 5 years was 8/9 game and that was it. Not like Kelvin years where we were dangerous anyway. Maybe that’s just the new Oklahoma basketball. Get to the tournament as bad as that sounds. Moser might 1/5 and that sucks. But I’m waiting to see if committee values what this team did late first before I call to tarmac him tonight

Dude, I think getting to the Tournament is a pretty good goal to have. We all want more, but outside of 5-7 blue blood types, very few schools have consistent success in the Tournament.

My goals are simple. I value consistency. But a team on the floor that wins 20-22 regular season games and finishes .500 and top half of the league (or better). That's a team that will have a decent seed in the Dance and won't be on the bubble. A season like we're having now? That should be a down season for us. I don't really care what happens once we make the Dance. If we get there consistently enough, we'll have years where we win some games, either as the favorite or as a dog that gets hot. I loved Kelvin Sampson and his tenure at OU, and he certainly had his struggles in the Dance. That isn't what I value (realistically).

Yeah, I've noticed that some on this board and TOS don't post as much when things go well or during wins. But in losses or negative news, there is a group that comes out strong.

I agree they don’t watch every game. I would consider the eye test to include that a team let’s say won 8 of last 10 in a major conference, It would probably have some effect. Not the complete emphasis, but some consideration.

Making personal attacks on a new poster every thread, while @BoulderSooner moderates this board with the power of the NCAA.
I’m not new. No need to moderate it idc he can say what he wants. I just love OU sports and will defend them until I die. Unfortunately was not good enough at the right sport to play at OU and continue the family legacy. I will rest my head easy tonight knowing how blessed I truly am
