GAME 34- SEC TOURNAMENT - OKLAHOMA (19-14) vs ARKANSAS (23-8 8:30pm CST on SEC NETWORK

So Do y'all think OU is in or are they heading to the NIT?? Here's my thing, if they win at least 6 of those games during the losing streak not only would they be in I believe they would be playing at Paycom for opening weekend.
Winning six of those games gets us to 25 wins and 13 in the SEC. That's a top four seed and the first two rounds in OKC.

I think we're out and we turn down a bid to the NIT because our coaching staff is leaving.

If that’s the case, I really hope the administration puts actual resources behind a new coach. Because if they don’t, we’ll be right back here in five years if not sooner.
Resources are not the issue. This roster was plenty good enough to be in the top half of the conference and get a good seed in the tournament. We were handicapped by our terrible coach.

If we accept an NIT invitation, it might be an all time low. Can you imagine playing in what is now a watered down event in Year 5 under this loser coach?

Can’t guard. Earlier when the whole team couldn’t guard I’d agree, but the way they played down the stretch I liked the rotations.
There are 157 things to complain about this season, but the rotations this final month are a bizarre complaint. I think we came up just short, but this was one of the best finishes to the season we've had in a long time.

And I think we absolutely have to play in the NIT. We're playing well enough to win it, which is a necessity to have any transfer portal momentum if out of NCAA again.

When teams like Belmont are opting out of be NIT you know that thing is essentially over. Maybe go to the crown and get paid $$$

How does winning another 4-5 games in a postseason tournament not garner momentum more than sitting at home and ending the season at 19 wins?
Multiple reasons.

1. Most of the guys that would be playing, won't be playing for OU next year.
1a. Some of the guys might not even want to play. They might want to get out of Norman. Focus on the draft. Focus on the transfer portal. Focus on offseason training.
2. OU would possibly lose money playing in the NIT. It costs to host games. And while most expenses for road games are covered, I'd be shocked if it were of no cost to the Sooners to play those games.

The NIT really needs to go away, or be a tournament for non-P4 conference teams that get left out. I'd be embarrassed if this OU team chose to play in it.

We should Never play in the NIT ever again. It’s a completely unnecessary expense and meaningless. We should be recruiting players for next season and scouting potential portal players.

They are already watching and scouting portal players.

Bc you give the players more of a showcase to audition for other teams and increase their leverage plus there is nothing to play for so the players can try to get theirs instead of playing team ball. Its just a relic. And we need to not do it
