Anyone know the channel of the game on ditecv tv? Mine is showing Indiana

51-8 at the half. The defense has been forcing long, bad shots at the end of the shot clock. Cant wait til wnit tourney.

I didn't see the first half. The second half was pretty ragged. We were playing pretty good defense, even with only reserves. But, we weren't shooting at all well.

syb,
first half was pretty much great defense.
defense creating a lot of offense.
and periods of very effective post offense.
lots of subbing and different personnel groupings.

Sherri seemed to be OK, but not elated, with it. She mentioned groupings and getting to see Carter at the 2 instead of point. She liked some play inside.

I must admit that I was concerned about what I saw inside in the second half. We simply were bigger than they were. But, we kind of threw the ball at the basket rather than shot. I thought Kornet was a better shooter than I have seen in the first two games. I felt a little better after the first game than I felt watching the second half tonight.

Something did seem to become apparent. We lost Aaryn and Morgan. But, we gain Little, Williams, Penzo, Ortiz, and Manning for those two positions.

Several did not shoot well including Kornet, Aaryn, and Shaya to name a few.

Too many turnovers.

Good assist numbers again so we are sharing the ball.

Spacing was good for the most part.

Defense looked good but that might change against better players.

It appears we have one outstanding player (Aaryn) and the rest are good but not great. We still need for someone to rise above the rest in order to make the final four. If we have that person on the roster (and I'm not sure that we do) it appears that person might be Kaylon. I say that because she has good footwork, isn't afraid to go after rebounds, can finish, and is effective shooting with either hand. It will be easier to rise above the others inside because we have a real need there and we have plenty of guards.

Right now, I'm more concerned with where the scoring is coming from other than Aaryn. I thought we had some shooters in Kornet, Carter, Wyatt, Campbell, Hook, and maybe Kellogg. I didn't see anyone step up as a shooter in the second half. Sharane looked good against Cameron, but she didn't even play much in the second half tonight. Our offensive flow is built around hitting the three or some long twos while in motion. I didn't see it in the second half. We'll see who plays against Stetson.

I was wondering something similar. My initial feeling is Sharane and Griffin will often score in double figures. Not always though. Sharane makes big plays at big moments sometimes and she is a veteran now. Griffin is in a good situation. She is going to score around the basket.
It is a good question. I would have said Aaryn, Maddie, and Griffin would be dependable scorers. Kornet, Sharane, KayKay, Hook, and maybe Carter having big games here and there. I am elated this season has arrived. The mighty Griner has moved on and this team has what appears to be quality depth.

I think Kaylon will be our X Factor. She scored 18 tonight but when she learns to be a little more selfish she will be scoring in the 20's and I hope consistently - plus with rebounds. Kaylon is toughness and when some good D shuts our guards down they will feed Kaylon - Kaylon has to eat as much as they feed.

Yes sir. She can do it. I am not a fan of injury like anyone else but a redshirt (regardless of type) gives a person a year's worth of reflection. Add rehab to that and a structure plus determination sets in. If things work out as they should she can pick up where she left off at the end of her freshman year. We are clearly a much better team if KayKay has her groove back.

I agree with you Syb. I think losing Maddie is much bigger than some may think. Sure we have plenty of guards but who is the scorer? Perhaps one will step out as we go along.

I can see the improvement in Sharane. I wasn't sure that she would start, and I didn't see much of her last night. But, against Cameron, she demonstrated a maturity that was lacking last year. I hope that we can count on that. She doesn't dribble into trouble and lose it any more, a syndrome that Aaryn also had.

Aaryn has also grown up. I haven't seen the mistakes that plagued her game for three years. She seems to have really learned in Russia. She is a level higher than she has been.

Griffin also seems to have the confidence that she has lacked. She is now quick to the basket, and she finishes. We haven't seen her against a challenger yet.

We really need for Kornet to come through. She does everything well except that she misses shots. She runs, hustles, gets to the right place, passes well, and plays solid ball. She just has a lid on the basket.

It would really help if Carter or Kellogg stepped up. We need one more person in the base rotation. I don't see it in Portia. Gibbs and Wyatt may not be ready. Edwards is nice at the point, but she isn't a scorer, unless it is due to defense.

Kaylon? I have to see her against competition to see if she has any flow.
