Apparently they are without three rotation players. Not sure how good they are but sounds like they should be getting reinforced at some point. Tonight was … not good for them lol.

Only 1 of those guys is in their top 7. And he was their 4th leading scorer. Not a reason to lose by 35 at home. Ike and Huff dominated them. At least we out scored them in the 2nd half! . Something is off in Lexington. 5-4 with zero quality wins.

That 15 point loss to Gonzaga is looking better in light of Kentucky's 30 point loss to them.

Oweh needs good shooters around him to be successful. He’s not POY. And Garrison is nothing special.

I agree. His winning percentage was like 80%. Maybe there needed to be a change but I was shocked with how happy some Kentucky fans were acting when he was gone.

A change was only needed because Calipari got burned out at Kentucky...mostly because of the demanding fan base. I hope they like their new head coach because I'm pretty sure Arkansas likes their new head coach.

I'll admit to being a bit partial toward Calipari ever since I attended the OU-UMass game in Springfield, MA in January of 1992 (pre Marcus Camby). UMass won by low double-digits, but the game was never competitive. I just developed a lot of respect after seeing first-hand how well-coached that team was.

I think the relationship soured but turning around and hiring pope? I’m not sure that’s the answer either.

Not watching it but just saw ISU up by 21 at Purdue midway through second half. Not surprised that ISU could win but didn’t expect that score (although I never really trust Purdue against tough teams).

Iowa State absolutely undressing #1 Purdue on the road.

Jefferson’s such a good player, & provides a unique matchup that’s hard for most teams to deal with. Their guards are elite on the defensive end. Momcilovic can really shoot & score. They do all the little things right & compete on every possession. Always connected on the defensive end.

TJ is such an amazing coach. I think there are only a handful of programs in the country that actually have a true culture. ISU is one of them. Just amazing what he’s done there.

Also think the short stretch of Lipsey being out with the groin injury helped Toure as well. He’s a future NBA player with his athleticism & way he guards. The offensive potential is there too.

Yep and that might be the biggest key to it. He knows exactly what they want to do and he finds the right guys for it. They rarely sign guys highly ranked in the portal, and they don’t change their overall philosophy from season to season. It’s really impressive.

Does the team know the season is still in progress? Getting curb stomped by a team that will finish near the bottom of the Big 12 is awesome. Maybe another assistant will quit soon, too.
