General college hoops game thread

Really good article about Vandy. They haven’t played any high level teams, but put together a smart schedule and already have six top 100 wins (we have two).

Also interesting to see how their coach approaches recruiting and identifying guys who fit the way he likes to play. Reminds me a bit of Iowa State in that regard. Only in year two but already have a true identity. They’ll be fun to watch. I hope our Vandy friend from last year posts again this season.

Was just looking at some numbers on Miss. Valley State and oh man. Not only are they the worst team in the country in both NET and KenPom, their KenPom numbers are significantly worse than Stetson. It’s hard to believe that’s possible, but there is a sizable gap. This needs to be another beat down. Either way, I think our SOS will drop below 300 after this one.

OU -44.5 wow

But had Oregon State played three games in nine days and was it past their bedtime??
There's no question that Arizona State loss was a bad one. They are not good. We defended like garbage, gave terrible effort, and were all around listless. If we don't learn how to defend more consistently, that will be every night during the SEC, but I do think we'll get better in that department.

Gonzaga losing at half by 11 to our local city university (Seattle U). Lol.

Nebraska beats Michigan State by scoring fewer points in the game than they did against us in the second half. Impressive win at home helped by a lot of Michigan State turnovers and a missed FT at the end of the game.

Wake Forest winning helps OU. OSU getting run out of the gym by TT doesn’t.

Also: Kentucky may be a bubble team at best this year. They’re in a really deep hole at 9-5.

UK is top 30 in NET. They are fine from a tourney standpoint but definitely not the start they wanted.

Man today should provide coaches a ton of video to show players how NOT to handle late game situations with the lead. College teams lose their minds at an alarming rate in those situations.
