Good Lord people, just how much "talent" does OU need to win 20 flippin' games? Next year we'll have 3 top 70 kids, and 4 total top 100 kids on the roster. I don't care if you fill the rest of the roster with Jerry's Kids, that is a team that should approach 20 wins.

I wouldn't say he ignores it, but I don't think he a) emphasizes it, b) KNOWS how to TEACH it, and c) has a consistent defensive "plan" from year to year.

I have no clue what he knows. He recruited Nick Thompson and Kyle Hardrick, so I would guess he doesn't know much about talent but that's not the question.

Yes, I do not think he coaches defense. If you watch our team, other than Cade Davis, we have a bunch of really poor defenders. The defense has gotten significantly worse each year since Kelvin left.

Maybe he understands the importance of it but doesn't know how to coach it?

Has he told you personally that he thinks defense is important? Has he told you personally how much time they spend in practice working on defense?

Wouldn't you agree we are horrible on defense?

Look at the defensive stats and we are at the bottom in almost every category. The ones we are not at the bottom, we are 2nd or 3rd to the bottom.

He may understand the importance of defense, but his players sure as hell don't. It's time we brought in someone who can actually get the players to defend instead of just teaching them its importance.

Make of this what you will. Just keep in mind, if you are going to blame "youth" for Capel, that '05 team was just as young, if not younger.

First number is the effeciency number, second number the rank that year.

I know basketball, as do a bunch of other people on this message board. Anybody that knows basketball knows he either doesn't coach defense at all, or he coaches it but doesn't emphasize it. It's probably the latter, but our defense is horrid to say the least.
