Hillsman commits To..

And, the Cards are losing. Bad night all around. I'm a bit surprised at A&M.

That sucks.
But it does allow Sherri to sign 2 kids next year.
Space things out a little better.
Talent wise seems like Pierre Louis v Hillsman is kind of a push.

I agree. It would have been nice to have Hillsman but I also like the option of signing two players next year.

We just need to keep players like Johnson, Cox, Alexander, and Mulkey visiting OU whenever possible.

I just don't get the since this is a bad thing... we missed out on James last year and hillsman this year but I think next year and the year after are the strong post classes. Now OU can could take Alexander and Mompremier or Ashley Hearn

Like Norm said. Let's keep the top ranked kids looking in at us, and keep spots open.

Recruiting in reality is a numbers game. You can expect to sign about 25-40% of the players that you offer that take a visit. Logically then you need to get visits from about 3 top twenty players annually if you target to sign one difference maker annually.

If over a 5 year period you can get 15 difference maker visits and sign 3-6 of those that visit you school then you will have about 3-4 difference makers on every roster, assuming you lose one occasionally for a variety of reasons. A roster with 4 difference makers can contend for national honors annually.

Otherwise with varying talent from year to year conference championship contention and a visit to the S16 is a more realistic expectation. Additionally you might exceed the S16 but that will be the exception not the rule.

Look at recruiting history for Stanford, Notre Dame, Duke and Tennessee and their numbers of top twenty visits will be 3-6 annually and be at the 15 level over four years.

spock,
exactly you're not going to get everyone you offer or everyone who visited officially.
Didn't get Hillsman, but fortunately Pierre Louis visited and verbaled.
